On September 21, the Polaris Class Organization took part in the National Maritime Week โ Walk for a Cause, one of the highlight activities of the 25th National Maritime Week celebration. Members joined maritime students, professionals, government agencies, and industry stakeholders in a solidarity walk from Plaza Libertad to the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand in support of this year's theme, โFrom Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence.โ The activity underscored the maritime sector's collective commitment to upholding excellence, professionalism, and responsible practices that contribute to the continued advancement of the Philippine maritime industry.
On behalf of Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treรฑas, Jay Treรฑas emphasized the significance of this year's theme, reminding participants that โexcellence is not simply about having good policies; it is about having people who are committed to living them out.โ His message highlighted the importance of translating knowledge, training, and standards into responsible actions that strengthen the maritime sector and promote a culture of accountability and service.
The event concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to professionalism, service, and maritime excellence as future stewards of the industry.
