As mandated by Republic Act No. 11304, which declares 4 February as Philippine-American War Memorial Day, the NHCP remains steadfast in preserving and promoting the nation’s historical memory and heritage for present and future generations.

The History Circle Club of Fort San Pedro National High School joins the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in celebrating National Arts Month 2026 this February!

With the theme “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting,” this year’s celebration highlights art as an “expression of truth and valor” emanating from people’s creative minds, shared experiences, and collective aspirations.

As we commemorate the 𝟏𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥'𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐦, the National Museum of the Philippines is launching the first of the three major themes of the 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! The first thematic focus, 𝘙𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳, entitled “𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥'𝐬 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲” will now be accessible starting 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 at rizal.nationalmuseum.gov.ph! It features the 21 Philippine objects Rizal donated in 1888 to the Ethnologisches Museum Berlin (formerly the Berlin Museum of Ethnology). This digital exhibition was made possible through the support of the Office of Senator Loren Legarda; in partnership with the Ethnologisches Museum Berlin, the Philippine Embassy in Germany, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the National Library of the Philippines, and Sentro Rizal of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. 📜Fort San Pedro National High School – History Circle Club joins the nation in commemorating the 129th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal today, December 30, 2025.

📜 Guided by the NHCP theme “RIZAL: Sa Pagbangon ng mga Mamamayan, Aral at Diwa Mo ang Tunay na Gabay,” we honor Rizal’s enduring legacy as a beacon of wisdom, courage, and love for country—values that continue to inspire the youth of FSPNHS.

✨ Featured today: excerpts from the heartfelt letter of Friona Lyn Rose Cabales (Grade 9 Kaptan, SPA – Creative Writing) addressed to Rizal, first read during our “Amin ang Kasaysayan: Kwento’t Liham ng Kabataan” culminating activity last August. Her words reflect admiration, gratitude, and the promise of the youth to carry forward Rizal’s ideals.

🏛️ As a continuation of this tribute, Ms. Cabales and the HCC Adviser visited the NHCP Museums in Iloilo City—Museum of Philippine Economic History and Museum of Philippine Maritime History—to witness “Bakas: Jose Rizal’s Imprints in the Provinces in the Philippines.”

Graciano was born on Dec. 18, 1856 in Jaro. He founded and was the first editor of the newspaper La Solidaridad. A great orator, he went to Spain to study and campaign for political reforms in the Philippines, alongside Filipino reformists Jose Rizal, Marcelo del Pilar, among others.
