Pursuant to the implementation of the project– "DepEd's 236,000 Trees – A Christmas Gift for the Children," Estancia National High School, through its Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) and Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), organized a tree-planting activity on December 6, 2023.

Department of Education (DepEd) aims to encourage environmental conservation, instructing 47,678 public schools under DepEd to plant 236,000 trees to remind the youth on their environmental responsibility.

"This is an initiative that aims to promote environmental preservation and instill environmental responsibility among Filipino children,” expressed in DepEd Order No. 069, s. 2023 signed by Vice President of the Philippines and current DepEd Secretary, Sara Duterte.

Each school requires a minimum of 5 trees, planted by a team of teachers, learners, and staff members.

Furthermore, the department is giving this project as a gift to ensure the goal of clean and green environment for the Filipino children.

Classes on this day for participating schools had been on asynchronous set-up.
