P15 MINIMUM JEEPNEY FARE PUSHED

The Western Visayas Transport Cooperative (WVTC) will file a petition for a P6 increase fare hike for public utility jeepneys (PUJs), making the minimum fare P15.

WVTC president Raymundo Parcon cited the skyrocketing prices of petroleum products as the primary reason why they are pushing for the increase.

JUST IN: SENATE APPROVES ON FINAL READING MORE POWER EXPANSION TO 15 TOWNS IN ILOILO PROVINCE

In a vote of 17-1, the Senate approved House Bill 10306 or the expansion of franchise area of MORE Power Iloilo to 15 municipalities and one component city in Iloilo.

The 15 towns include Alimodian, Leganes, Leon, New Lucena, Pavia, San Miguel, Santa Barbara Zarraga, Anilao, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Di**le, Duenas, Dumangas, San Enrique, and Passi City.
