The JMNHS - Science Department Piloting an InnoWVation on Bringing Education at the Doorstep of the Learners in Lapuz

What is the life of teachers and learners under the pandemic? Although most learners are engaged in online and modular learning methods, we teachers deeply and intuitively reflect on what makes a generation well-educated and self-sufficient in this ongoing public health crisis.

For at-risk learners, this pandemic is one more challenge to handle. To address their academic needs with suitable strategies and effective reach out plans, we, the Science Teachers of Jalandoni Memorial National High School, came up with our flagship innovation entitled, “Roving Automo-dule (RAM): Navigating Learning Opportunities for At-Risk Modular Learners."

This innovation utilizes an automobile where the back compartment is converted into a roving teaching and learning resource niche containing improvised laboratory equipment, textbooks, modules, and learning activity sheets. Its main objective is to bring the classroom to the community to help develop the science process skills of these At-Risk learners.

The mechanics of this innovation strictly follows the IATF guidelines on the implementation of minimum health protocols.

The pilot implementation of this activity was last November 24, 2021. We traversed the main thoroughfares of Lapuz and paid a short visit en route to all the Barangays surrounding the area.
