Last May 7, 2026, HUMSOC proudly joined “Kabataang Ilonggo: Magapadayon sa Kadalag-an sang Iloilo” held at the District 21 Hotel together with several youth and community organizations across Iloilo.

The summit became a space for young leaders and organizations such as the Kabataan sa Kartilya ng Katipunan, Iloilo City Federated Peer Support Group, Proyekto Volunteers Network, CAMELEON Association Inc., Junior Chamber International Regatta, and Greenpeace Philippines – Iloilo Volunteers to share advocacies, strengthen collaboration, and promote meaningful community engagement. HUMSOC proudly represented its commitment to service, youth empowerment, and community involvement as a student organization.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Homeless People's Federation Philippines, Inc. Youth Iloilo Chapter, Iloilo City Local Housing Office, and their partners for giving HUMSOC the opportunity to be part of this meaningful event.

Last April 25-26, 2026, the Bachelor In Human Services Program successfully conducted the interviews for qualified applicants of BHUMSERV. We extend our gratitude to the faculty and the student volunteers who extend their help in making this possible.

The HUMSOC would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the qualified applicants on this remarkable achievement! Best wishes as you embark on your journey with the Bachelor in Human Services program at ISAT U. On April 7–8, the 4th Year Human Services students successfully conducted their Final Thesis Defense at the Bachelor in Human Services Wellness Lab, Iloilo Science and Technology University - Iloilo City Campus. This significant academic milestone reflects their dedication, hard-work, perseverance, and commitment to making meaningful contributions in the field of Human Services and Mental Health.

Through rigorous research, countless hours of work, restless nights and thoughtful presentations, these students demonstrated not only their knowledge and skills, but also their passion for serving the people.

Congratulations to the 4th year students involved in the activity for achieving this remarkable milestone, your journey is an inspiration to your fellow students, and your commitment to help those in need is visible and seen.

As February slowly comes to an end, we pause and look back at one of the most vibrant and unforgettable highlights of the month, the 𝕮𝕬𝕾 𝕯𝕬𝖄𝕾 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

This celebration was not just a series of events, it was a testament to the strength, passion, and unity. Most especially, the Bachelor of Human Services students truly embodied excellence.

CAS Days became a space where talents were discovered, friendships were strengthened, and leadership was practiced.

To our dear students, the helicons, thank you for stepping forward, for giving your best, and for representing the Human Services with pride and integrity. Your hard work behind the scenes, long practices, preparations, and sacrifices did not go unnoticed.

When statements that mental health can be seen as a “weakness” are harmful and deeply misleading, especially in a country where many people already hesitate to seek psychological help. Mental health struggles are not signs of personal failure; they are real health conditions shaped by biological, psychological, and social factors.

Hindi mahina ang kabataan ngayon for speaking up; mas may lakas ng loob lang silang maging totoo sa kanilang emosyon. 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

Comparing today’s youth to older generations ignores the context and challenges they face, and the 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Our leaders have a responsibility to use words that empower, educate, and protect. A healthier message would recognize that seeking help is an act of strength, not a weakness, and that mental well-being is just as important as physical health.
