Members of the Association of Early Childhood Education Students, alongside professionals including kindergarten teachers from the Division of Antique, gathered virtually for the international webinar titled โ€œCultivating Connections: Partnering for Global Excellence in Early Childhood Education (ECE)โ€ held on May 1, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

The activity was conducted through a partnership with teachers from Lollypop Preschool, Sunter, Jakarta, Indonesia; Concordia Academy and Neighborhood English, Vietnam; and New Life Preschool Services, Singapore.

The program formally opened with a prayer led by Marie Allyson Echivare, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Dr. Jade Janay delivered the opening remarks, while Alria Loudine Lacurom facilitated the webinar orientation.

Three distinguished educators with extensive experience teaching abroad served as resource speakers, where they presented innovative teaching strategies, shared global best practices, and discussed how cross-cultural collaboration strengthens the quality of early childhood education.

Ms. Emelinda C. Villanueva, LPT, Former Principal of Lollypop Preschool, Sunter, Jakarta, Indonesia, and an educator with more than 30 years of service, emphasized that international exchange keeps the profession progressive and dynamic.

โ€œGlobal exchange keeps ECE dynamic. Fresh ideas update our practice and build strong professional identity,โ€ she said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Emmarie P. Lacuarta, Senior Preschool Educator at New Life Preschool Services, Singapore and alumna of WVSU, highlighted that learning beyond borders helps teachers grow beyond their usual practice. Having 11 years of experience overseas, she noted that exposure to different cultures builds better educators.

โ€œLearning beyond borders makes us more reflective, adaptable, and inclusive educators. There is never just one right way to teach,โ€ she expressed.

Representing Vietnam, Ms. Niรฑa Elah Subano, Preschool Teacher at Concordia Academy and Neighborhood English, Vietnam, shared that global sharing bridges theory learned in school and real classroom realities.

โ€œGlobal insights connect theory and practice. It prepares us to teach anywhere, making learning meaningful and joyful for every child,โ€ she stated.

The program concluded with the giving of certificates, closing remarks from Dr. Bonifacio Gaverza, and a group photo opportunity.

Through this collaborative undertaking, it was emphasized that quality early childhood education knows no borders, and that partnership and knowledge-sharing are key to raising standards and achieving excellence in the field.

The Department of Education Region VI โ€“ Western Visayas, Schools Division of Antique, in partnership with the Association of Early Childhood Education Students (AECES), successfully conducted the webinar titled โ€œProfessional Development: Practical Montessori Strategies for Kindergarten Teachersโ€ on May 1, 2026. The online session ran from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.

Serving as the resource speaker, Dr. Ditas Ligue, a faculty member from the Division of Early Childhood Education, shared her expertise in Montessori practices with 414 kindergarten teachers from SDO Antique. Drawing from her 11 years of teaching experience at Iloilo Montessori School, she provided practical insights applicable to the classroom.

โ€œI believe that professional platforms are essential because there is always room for learning and for change. The striving for excellence and for growth is a lifelong journey,โ€ Dr. Ligue emphasized.

The program was opened with remarks by Dr. Edward E. Baรฑa, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division. He highlighted the importance of the activity and expressed gratitude to the organizing committee, led by Dr. Ma. Adrilyn R. Lacurom, Education Program Supervisor for Kindergarten/Multigrade in Antique, with assistance from AECES officers.

The webinar concluded with an open forum where participants shared insights and raised queries about Montessori approaches.

After the storytelling, the children enjoyed a fun and refreshing pool activityโ€”giving them a chance to cool off and play under the warm afternoon sun. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿซง

Beyond the fun, AECES took the lead in facilitating the activities, gaining valuable hands-on experience in community-based teaching while strengthening their passion for guiding young learners.

To make the experience even more memorable, the children were treated to snacks and received their own storybooks and loot bagsโ€”encouraging them to continue exploring the world of reading at home.

In the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd), we are more than students who study theories, create projects, or complete requirements. We are future educators preparing for one of the most meaningful roles in societyโ€”to nurture, inspire, and shape the lives of young children.

As BECEd majors, we are trained not only in academics but also in empathy, creativity, and passion. We learn the power of play, the value of stories, and the importance of every childโ€™s โ€œfirstโ€ experiences. Each day reminds us that what we do today will echo in classrooms, playgrounds, and young hearts in the future.

We donโ€™t walk this journey alone. Through the Association of Early Childhood Education Students (AECES), we grow as one familyโ€”building leadership, friendships, and a shared purpose. Together, we donโ€™t just accomplish tasks; we build dreams and shape our calling as future educators.

To be a BECEd student is to believe in every childโ€™s potential.
To be part of AECES is to believe in each other.

We are BECEd students. We are AECES.
