The workshop, led by English teacher Mr. John Chino E. Cudo, aimed to teach learners that storytelling is as much about emotion and authenticity as it is about words.
โStorytelling is not about memorizing lines,โ said Mr. Cudo. โIt is about understanding the soul behind every story and letting yourself feel it. When you feel it, your audience will feel it too.โ
The session opened with the icebreaker โLights, Camera, Emotion!โ Learners watched short film clips and mirrored the charactersโ emotions, discovering how subtle expressions can convey powerful feelings.
โIt was not just fun. It made me realize that acting and storytelling are about honesty,โ shared Zeke, one of the learners who impressed everyone with his dedication and emotional delivery.
Instead of performing their assigned stories, the learners focused on techniques that make storytelling authentic, including voice variation, facial expressions, audience connection, and sincerity. The workshop prepared them for the upcoming ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ซ contest on November 25, part of the Book Month Celebration 2025, themed โ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ -๐๐ฌ๐ ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐จ ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ -๐๐ฌ๐.โ
