𝐃𝐎𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐒 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝟐𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
Elementary and high school Doaneans participated in the 2nd Congressional District Cluster Journalism Training, held at Pavia National High School on August 21–22 and Santa Barbara Central Elementary School on August 22, 2026.
The training provided aspiring campus journalists with an opportunity to strengthen their skills in various fields of journalism, including news writing, feature writing, sports writing, copy reading and headlining, editorial cartooning, and photojournalism.
Among the participants, Francine Gail Calmita, a Grade 6 learner, earned the recognition of Most Promising Writer in Column Writing – English, adding another achievement to the school's young journalists.
Other elementary participants included Joseph Brendan Lanzar, Allaeda Francine Lunasco, and Abiah Faye Octaviano in News Writing – English; Edward Kurt Diño and Chris Rian Yett De La Cruz in Editorial Cartooning – English; Elbethel Bernice Prado and Nylle June Latoza in Editorial Cartooning – Filipino; and Arthur John Tirador in Feature Writing – English.
Representing the high school division were Egian Sobrevega in Feature Writing – English; Dhemiel Mae Regalado in Copy Reading and Headlining – English; Khian Troy Sufiencia in Sports Writing – Filipino; Ishie Gift Ardiente and Shaina Gustilo in Photojournalism – English and Filipino, respectively; Querence Roquero in Editorial Cartooning – English; and Princess Bernice Mesada in Editorial Cartooning – Filipino.
Beyond the competition, the training allowed learners to gain new knowledge, exchange ideas, and further develop their skills in campus journalism. Their participation reflects the school's support for journalism and its commitment to developing young voices who can tell stories with purpose and integrity.
