Siwalo National High School Celebrates National Reading Month 2024 with Creative Flair
Siwalo, November 15, 2024 — Siwalo NHS came alive with creativity and excitement as students and teachers gathered to celebrate National Reading Month 2024 with the theme “Magbasa, Magdiwang, Mangarap.” The event, held at 2:00 PM, featured a vibrant mix of writing contests and stage presentations that showcased the school community's passion for literacy.
The celebration kicked off with the Writing Competitions, where students demonstrated their talents in Essay Writing, Poem Writing, News Writing, Poster Making, Spelling Bee and Quiz Bee.
The excitement continued with Stage Presentations that brought the theme to life with Poem Choir, Poetry Reading, Declamation, Oration and Singing Contests.
Each performance captivated the audience, highlighting the students’ confidence and passion for learning.
With the success of this year’s National Reading Month celebration, Siwalo NHS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of literacy, creativity, and lifelong learning among its students.

Leading the Way: Miss Recellie M. Mandado Passes NQESH, Inspiring a New Era at Siwalo National High School!

A significant achievement for Siwalo National High School, Officer-In -Charge Miss Recellie M. Mandado successfully passed the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) on May 26, 2024. This accomplishment marks a crucial moment in her career and underscores her commitment to educational excellence.
The NQESH is a rigorous examination designed to assess the competencies and skills required for effective school leadership. Passing this examination not only highlights Miss Mandado's dedication but also enhances the leadership capabilities within the school, ensuring a positive impact on both students and faculty.

Clean Hands, Save Lives!
October 15, 2024 ⃒ Siwalo National High School proudly joins the global community in celebrating Global Handwashing Day with the theme, “Why Are Clean Hands Still Important?”
Today, the community of Siwalo NHS come together to celebrate the importance of hand hygiene in keeping the school healthy. The students were oriented after the flag ceremony on the importance of handwashing activity on a short program led by the SBM-Wins Coordinator, Mrs. Maria Leonila M. Portillo. The said program was graced by the presence of the school’s Division Nurse II, Mrs. Leila B. Alamodin, who reiterated on the proper handwashing methods and make it a part of students’ daily lives. After the message of Mrs Alamodin, the students were able to watch a short video on the establishment of the school SBM-Wins. And to formally close the program, the students were grouped accordingly by grade level doing the handwashing while the SBM-Wins Jingle “Hugas Kamot” played on the background.
With this year’s theme, “Why Are Clean Hands Still Important?”, reminds us that washing our hands with soap and water is a “simple” yet a “powerful” action that can prevent the spread of diseases.
Remember, clean hands save lives! Let’s spread the word and inspire others to prioritize hygiene.
