However, not all the information shared on social media is accurate or complete. Some posts may include false details, assumptions, or personal opinions presented as facts. In many cases, people may quickly blame certain factors without proper evidence, which can lead to misunderstanding and misinformation.
Social media strongly influences how people think and react, but it can also spread misinformation quickly. That is why it is important to pause, verify information, and respond responsibly. By practicing media literacy in daily life such as checking facts and avoiding harmful content, we can help create a more informed and respectful online community. Why it matters most
I think this function stands out because it affects almost everything you do: checking news, messaging friends, following school updates, and learning about health or society. Media also helps people stay aware of important events and issues, which makes it useful beyond entertainment.
Simple example
For example, when you use Facebook, YouTube, or online news to learn about class announcements, weather updates, or public issues, you are using media mainly for information and communication. That function has a direct effect on your routine because it helps you respond faster and stay organized.

• Before vs. After: Before this lesson, I honestly just looked at media as a tool for entertainment and a way to kill time. I’d scroll through TikTok or Facebook mindlessly, taking everything I saw at face value without really questioning who made it or why. Now, I realize that media isn't neutral. Every post, article, and video has a specific purpose, a target audience, and some level of bias or framing behind it.
• Influence on Daily Use: It has completely changed how I interact with my feeds. Instead of being a passive consumer, I'm way more active now. I find myself looking at the source of a post before I believe it, and I’m much more conscious of how much time I spend online and how algorithms try to keep me hooked.
