𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲—𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬. 🧪💥

Last August 28 & 29, WVSU Chemistry Society attended the 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held at Casa Real and
Iloilo City Hall, Iloilo City. The event was centered on the theme: “𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.”

The conference showcased various advocacies that are relevant in today’s time, particularly those concerning the youth. The primary goal of the event was to share ideas, experiences, and platforms from people all over the nation, each bringing their own advocacies into the discussions and presentations.

‎𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 : 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝑽𝑺𝑼’𝒔 𝑺𝑳𝑫𝑷 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

‎The 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 participated in the 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗦𝗟𝗗𝗣) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, a three-day in-house leadership formation program that brought together student leaders from councils, organizations, and publications across 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆.
‎
‎Held on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟳-𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, SLDP 2026 aimed to equip student leaders with the 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 to lead with integrity and passion.
‎
‎Through 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, and 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, the program provided opportunities to learn and also build connections with fellow student leaders all across the university.
‎
‎In chemistry, 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 hold elements together. In leadership, shared purpose forms the bonds that bring people towards a clear goal for the future.

‎May our student leaders always carry the lessons they've learn beyond the program. 🙌🏻

𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐎𝐂!

The WVSU Chemistry Society participated in 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 by 𝐒𝐀𝐊𝐃𝐀𝐆 𝐏𝐇 last 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at the 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐌𝐀 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨. From different youth organizations, youth discussions, and local finds. We were glad to be part of it. An opportunity to feature our organization, IGPs, and what we can bring to the youth community.

Special thanks to Sienna Mae Hilario, CJ Suerte Belloso, Wayne Ann Destacamento, Arabella Fernando, and Kim Aisha Martirizar who prepared and represented the organization's booth in the said event.

Beyond the org booth, we also participated in 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬’ 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤, bringing a different kind of energy to the day. From seeing youth listening to a leader speak on public service and advocacy to show what they can do.

A packed day, a lot to see, and plenty of reasons to keep showing up.

The 𝗪𝗩𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 proudly joined the 𝗦𝗞 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝗶, alongside fellow young Ilonggos, celebrating our shared energy last 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

ChemSoc representatives also attended the 𝗔𝗗𝗕𝗢𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 by Proyekto Volunteers Network, where meaningful conversations and advocacy took center stage and reminded us that youth participation goes beyond showing up; it’s about having a voice and using it.
