Here's our advocacy and promotion entry.
Larong kalye is a program intended for Filipinos in all age brackets to experience the richness and diversity of our local street games. Considering that almost 60% of the mass population in the Philippines doesn't have computers and still can't afford high-tech game gadgets, the Filipino Traditional Street Games are still a favorite past-time among children in heavily urban areas and provinces. Such as luksung baka, patintero, piko, and tumbang preso are primarily played by children.
Play is the way kids grow, learn and live. As children continue to grow, so do the skills they possess, from agility and strength-building to socialization and independence, also learned meaningful lifelong lessons they learn and share with younger generations.
This advocacy promotes peace, harmony, goodwill, and Friendship in various communities and age brackets. Despite the pandemic that we are facing right now, there is always a way on how we can help each other, mingle and strengthen family bonds and friendships. It can develop a variety of skills and talents that Filipinos possess to appreciate and value sports in physical activities.
It is called Larong lahi 2.o because the street games that we conducted were added with twists that aim to promote interactive and fun ways to unite kids, youth, and adults alike, especially those who are young at heart. It brings them back to memory lane and at the same time, it is a way to pass down this part of our culture which has become almost obsolete due to modernization and abrupt changes in our everyday living.
We will be posting our advocacy on YouTube in the hopes of giving you an idea that will make your event more exciting and fun. And we also make a kalye bingo experience for you guys.
