ChemiCARE 2026: Hatid Agham, Hatid Kalinga was more than an outreachโ€”it was a living testament that when knowledge is shared with compassion, it transforms lives. In a space filled with laughter, curiosity, and genuine connection, we witnessed how science can become a bridgeโ€”bringing people together, sparking wonder in young minds, and nurturing hope in the community.

Every experiment conducted, every lesson shared, and every smile exchanged carried a deeper purpose. What seemed like simple activitiesโ€”mixing solutions, demonstrating proper hygiene, giving small tokensโ€”became moments of learning, empowerment, and care. It reminded us that education is most powerful when it is felt, experienced, and shared with others.
More than anything, this initiative showed us that service goes beyond fulfilling a taskโ€”it is about showing up with heart, choosing to give even when it is inconvenient, and finding joy in seeing others grow. In those few hours, we didnโ€™t just teach scienceโ€”we built connections, created memories, and became part of something greater than ourselves.

This meaningful endeavor would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our partners and sponsors, who believed in our mission and helped us bring it to life:

Because of your support, we were able to extend not only knowledge, but also care, kindness, and hope to every child we encountered. You made it possible for us to turn a simple idea into a meaningful experience that will be remembered far beyond a single day.

As we look back, ChemiCARE 2026 reminds us that the true essence of chemistry is not only found in formulas and reactionsโ€”it is found in the connections we build, the lives we touch, and the love we choose to give. And in that, we find our purpose. โœจ

To deepen understanding of marine chemistry and emphasize the responsibility to protect ocean ecosystems, the WVSU Chemistry Society took part in the conduct of HyperFICSate, a semestral seminar organized by the Federation of Iloilo Chemistry Society, on April 18 via Google Meet.

With the theme, "Marine Chemistry: Understanding and Preserving Ocean Ecosystems,โ€ Karlo Primavera, assistant professor at the University of the Philippines Visayas, served as the seminarโ€™s speaker, discussing marine chemistry, including chemical oceanography and marine geochemistry.

He explained how nutrients, carbon systems, and geochemical processes sustain marine life across coastal and pelagic ecosystems, situating these within the Philippine context of biodiversity and environmental challenges.

He also highlighted pressing threats such as pollution, climate change, and destructive fishing practices, emphasizing the shared responsibility to protect marine ecosystems.

The seminar concluded with an open forum, allowing participants to raise questions and engage further on the topics presented.
