ISAT U successfully joins the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW) with the theme โUNITED for a VAW-free Philippinesโ from November 25 to December 12, 2025. And here are the winners of the following competitions: GaluGAD, Hangkat SunGAD, ManGAD sang Dila, Pantomime for GAD and Safe Spaces Act, Poster-Making Contest, and GAD Quiz Bee (Student and Non-Teaching Personnel).
We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone who supports our activities, especially to the ISAT U SUC President, Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre Jr., the vice presidents, deans, directors, unit heads, faculty, staff, our external campuses and students. Thank you for making the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women a success.

๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ฆ ๐ข๐จ๐ง | ILOILO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY (ISAT U) will participate in the global celebration of the 2025 International Menโs Day on November 19, which will be celebrated in the University as the Araw ng Kalalakihan 2025.
The University Gender Center will facilitate the conduct of the Health Check activity in collaboration with Medicus Medical Center and the foot reflex activity.
These services will be available to all ISAT U faculty members, personnel and staff.
These initiatives underscore the Universityโs commitment to equitable health access, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages for the entire ISAT U community.

GAD Peer Advocates Take Their Oath of Commitment
The GAD Peer Advocates, together with their adviser Ms. Rowena A. Alibagon, proudly took part in the Oath-Taking Ceremony of Minor Organizations, Special Interest Clubs, Student Publications, Religious Organizations, Advisers, and Co-Advisers, at the ISAT U Multi-Purpose Educational Center.
Their accreditation marks the beginning of greater opportunities to uphold their advocacy for Gender Equality within the campus and community.
Together, they look forward to a year of learning, growth, and meaningful serviceโจ๐

The University Gender Center successfully conducted the Gender-Sensitivity Orientation for the newly hired teaching and non-teaching personnel of external campuses, held at the ISAT U Student Services Building, La Paz, Iloilo City. This initiative aims to foster a respectful, inclusive, and gender-fair workplace by raising awareness on gender issues, breaking stereotypes, and promoting equality.
Dr. Emily A. Dela Cruz, former GAD Director, served as a Resource Person on Introduction to Gender and Development, RA 11313 or Safe Spaces Act, and Gender-Fair Language. Through interactive discussions and real-life scenarios, participants learned more about creating a safe and supportive environment for all. This orientation is part of our commitment in upholding human rights and strengthening gender responsiveness in the academe
Together, we move forward in building a culture of respect, empathy, and equity in our institution and community.

The University Gender Center successfully implemented its annual program intended to promote awareness of gender equality among the universityโs teaching and non-teaching personnel. A total of sixty-four (64) newly hired employees participated in the orientation sessions.
In the previous academic year, the University Gender Center facilitated several sessions of the Gender Sensitivity Orientation for students within the Academic Year 2024โ2025. This initiative is an essential responsibility of the universityโs ongoing efforts to foster a more gender-sensitive academic community.

The University Gender Center conducted a seminar-workshop on Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG). This activity was attended by GAD coordinators, researchers, extensionists, and PDAS personnel systemwide. It was a productive and insightful experience for the participants.
They were equipped with a comprehensive understanding of HGDG and enhanced their capacity to integrate a gender perspective into project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Dr. Emily A. Dela Cruz, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services and former Director of the University Gender Center, served as the resource person.
