PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID AWARENESS SEMINAR
Last July 22, 2026, a Psychological First Aid (PFA) Awareness Seminar was held at the CSM Function Hall. The seminar was conducted in two sessions, with parents attending in the morning and selected students in the afternoon. The morning session for the parents was conducted by Dr. Aimee G. Chua, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, while the afternoon session for the students was conducted by Dr. Catherine Jane L. Eraldo, RN, Medical Specialist II (Psychiatrist). The activity helped participants understand how they can support someone who may be experiencing stress, difficult situations, or emotional challenges.
One of the main lessons discussed was the 3 Lโs of Psychological First Aid: Look, Listen, and Link. Participants learned that Look means paying attention to what a person is going through, Listen means giving them time to talk and express their feelings, and Link means helping them find the appropriate people or support when needed. The activity also reminded participants that helping someone does not always mean having the right answers. Sometimes, simply listening, understanding, and being there for someone can already make a difference.
The activity was a meaningful experience that reminded everyone that even small acts of kindness, understanding, and genuine concern can have a positive impact on someoneโs well-being.
