Two alumni of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language (BAFL) program have earned the highly competitive 2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), securing fully funded opportunities to pursue master's degrees at leading universities in the Republic of Korea.

West Visayas State University (WVSU) extends its congratulations to its deans and faculty members who were elected to the 2026–2029 Philippine Association for Graduate Education Region VI (PAGE-6) during the oath-taking and organizational meeting held on July 21, 2026, at the University of San Agustin – College of Business Conference Room, Iloilo City.

The WVSU community commends Dr. Ricky M. Magno (President), Dr. Ricky G. Abaleña III (Vice President for External Affairs), Dr. Bonna S. Palma (Secretary), Dr. Anabelle L. Baga-an (Assistant Treasurer), Dr. Garry C. Cachuela (Public Information Officer), Dr. Rona Dhel C. Alingasa (Assistant Public Information Officer), and Dr. John Erwin P. Pedroso (Board Member), and wishes them success as they help advance quality graduate education and academic collaboration across Western Visayas.

West Visayas State University (WVSU) strengthened its international academic partnerships as it welcomed officials from The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) and the University of the Philippines Asian Center for a courtesy visit and ceremonial signing of a Letter of Agreement (LOA) on July 27 at the WVSU Boardroom
