Weather and climate are differentiated by the amount or measure of time. Weather is the day-to-day condition of the atmosphere while the climate reflects the long-term condition of the atmosphere. Agriculture and the various sectors are highly dependent on weather and climate. Fifty percent (50 %) of the success in agriculture is dependent on weather and climate.
Climate change is the shift or the abnormality in climate patterns, which brought many detrimental effects on human lives. Abnormality in our climate does not only affect the agriculture sector but it affects every one of us. Therefore, all of us must be informed on how to mitigate and adapt to this worldwide challenge.
Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) is an approach that helps to guide actions needed to transform and reorient agricultural systems to effectively support the development and ensure food security in a changing climate. It is an approach for developing agricultural strategies to secure sustainable food security under climate change. It also provides the means to help stakeholders from local to national and international levels identify agricultural strategies suitable to their local conditions.
Join us this upcoming Saturday - April 2, 2022, 9-11 AM, in our webinar entitled, βClimate-Smart Agriculture and Adaptation Technologiesβ via Google Meet and Facebook Live.
This webinar is organized by the 3rd year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture - Central Philippine University, College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences.
