When one child is supported, a community grows.

Through child-led learning, strength-based approach, and trauma-informed care, we support children of all abilities and give back through scholarship programs for families who need it most.

If your child cries before therapy… we should talk.

Not all resistance is “misbehavior.”
Sometimes, it’s a child’s way of saying,
“Something doesn’t feel right for me.”

At Little Learners Initiative, we do things differently.

We focus on:
✔ Building trust first
✔ Creating a safe, welcoming space
✔ Following the child’s pace

Because real progress doesn’t come from PRESSURE.
it comes from CONNECTION.

In fact, one of the things we hear most from parents is:
“Ayaw na umuwi ng anak ko.”

And for us, that says everything.

When a child feels safe, understood, and happy-
learning naturally follows.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

But awareness is just the beginning.

At Little Learners Initiative, we believe in something deeper — acceptance, understanding, and empowerment.

Autism is not something to be “fixed.”
It is a different way of experiencing the world.

Some of our learners may not speak yet…
Some may flap, run, or repeat behaviors…
Some may struggle with change, noise, or social cues…

But every single one of them is learning, communicating, and trying in their own way.

And that deserves respect.

🔸Instead of asking “How do we make them fit in?”
Let’s ask: “How do we create spaces where they belong?”

🔸Instead of focusing on limitations,
Let’s build on their strengths, interests, and joy.

🔸Instead of forcing conformity,
Let’s support connection and understanding.

This is why we do what we do —
To create a community where every child feels safe, seen, and valued.

💙 Today, we celebrate neurodiversity.
💙 Today, we choose inclusion.
💙 Today, we stand with every autistic child and their family.

🌟Why Some Children Keep Checking for Mom During Class🌟

Have you ever noticed a child who keeps going back to reception to check if Mommy or Daddy is still there?

This isn’t misbehavior.
This is called proximity monitoring — a normal phase of attachment regulation.

According to attachment theory (introduced by John Bowlby), children go through stages when learning to separate from their caregivers.

Here’s how it usually looks:

👶 1. Protest Phase
Crying, clinging, refusing to enter the room.

🚪 2. Proximity Monitoring Phase
The child separates — but checks repeatedly to make sure their caregiver is still there.

🌱 3. Transitional Regulation Phase
Longer play periods. Fewer checks. The child begins trusting the teacher as a safe adult.

💛 4. Internalized Secure Base
The child confidently says, “Mom will come back later,” and participates fully.

Checking behavior is not defiance.
It’s the child’s nervous system asking,
“Am I still safe?”

At Little Learners Initiative, we don’t rush this process.
We don’t force independence.
We build it — gently, consistently, and relationally.

Because true confidence doesn’t come from removing the parent quickly.
It comes from helping the child internalize safety.

If your child struggles with separation, know this:
It’s not a problem to fix. It’s a process to support.

When looking for support, most focus on services offered.

Speech therapy.
Occupational therapy.
Special education.

But here’s the real question:

Do they actually work together?

Because your child is not just “speech.”
Not just “behavior.”
Not just “academics.”

Everything is connected.

At our center, your child is supported by a team:
• An SLP for communication
• An OT for regulation, behavior, and motor skills
• A SPED teacher for learning and overall development

And we don’t work separately.

We collaborate. We align. We share strategies.

So your child isn’t getting three different approaches…
They’re getting one clear, consistent support system.

Because real progress happens when everyone is on the same page.

If you’ve been feeling like progress is slow or confusing…
This might be what’s missing.

Send us a message. Let’s talk about your child. 🧡

Some parents come into our lives quietly… and leave a lasting mark. 🧡

We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to one of our amazing parents who recently shared such kind and encouraging feedback about her experience with us at Little Learners Initiative.

Your words meant more than you know. In the middle of busy days and challenging moments, it’s messages like yours that remind us why we do what we do.

We also want to honor the effort your family made — traveling such a long distance just to give your child the support they needed. That kind of commitment, love, and dedication does not go unnoticed.

While we will truly miss having you with us, we completely understand your decision to move to a center closer to home. At the end of the day, what matters most is that your child continues to receive the support they deserve.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey, even for a short time. You will always be part of our Little Learners family. 🤍

Wishing you and your child continued growth, joy, and success wherever you go.

So when you walk through our doors, know that your decision creates a ripple effect far beyond your own home.

One child at a time. One family at a time. 🤍

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Not all learning centers are the same.
And for children who need extra support, that difference matters.

At Little Learners Initiative, we don’t just focus on outcomes — we FOCUS on the CHILD.

Here’s what sets us apart:

🤍 Connection before compliance
We don’t force children to follow instructions.
We build trust first — because real learning happens through connection.

🧠 Regulation before academics
A child who is overwhelmed cannot learn.
We support the nervous system first, so the brain becomes ready.

🎲 Play is our primary tool
No pressure. No drills.
We use meaningful, child-led play to build communication, thinking, and social skills.

🌈 Neurodiversity-affirming approach
We don’t try to “fix” children.
We understand, support, and celebrate how they experience the world.

👨‍👩‍👧 We work with families, not just children
Parents are part of the journey. We guide, support, and walk alongside you.

🌱 Non-profit, mission-driven
We exist to make support more accessible — especially for families who need it most.

Because at the end of the day…

It’s not just about teaching children to behave.
It’s about helping them feel safe, understood, and capable.

And from there, everything else grows.
