Strengthening internationalization efforts in Region X ๐โจ
The 1st IRON X โ CHEDRO X Meeting held last April 28, 2026 at AVR1, Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro, gathered internationalization leaders and representatives from various Higher Education Institutions across the region.
The meeting highlighted important discussions on the formulation of IRON X bylaws, updates on CHED Region X internationalization initiatives, institutional best practices, capacity building on internationalization, and scholarly opportunities with Taiwanese universities.
We are honored to have contributed to the discussion on โScholarly Opportunities with Taiwanese Universitiesโ through the presentation of the INTACT Base Staff of MSU-IIT.

Personnel from Mindanao State UniversityโIligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) joined the International Industrial Talents Education Special (INTENSE) Program Education Fair at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on April 13, 2026.
The event, directed by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, was organized by National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Kun Shan University (KSU), and Cheng Shiu University (CSU), and co-organized by Bulacan State University (BulSU).
Leading the MSU-IIT delegation was Prof. Joey Genevieve T. Martinez, DSc, Vice Chancellor for International Affairs and Assistant Project Leader of the INTACT Base โ MSU-IIT Mindanao Hub Office. Representing the College of Engineering were Dean Jefferson A. Hora, Ph.D.; Assistant Dean Gevelyn B. Itao; Department of Electronics Engineering (DECE) Chairperson Gene Fe P. Palencia; and 4th-year BS Metallurgical Engineering LIPGI Ambassador Dale Francis Cabigas. Also present were faculty members from various colleges, including College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Dean Mylene M. Uy.
The Education Fair showcased universities involved in implementing the INTENSE Program, an initiative of the Taiwan Ministry of Education that offers postgraduate scholarships across various academic pathways and opens career opportunities in Taiwan. The program aims to encourage students and educators to advance their skills and pursue opportunities on the international stage.
