𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡: The Council of Vice Governors (CVG) has officially elected its new set of leaders!

A new chapter of student leadership begins as the Council of Vice Governors (CVG) elects its new executive officers to represent college-level concerns within the Kataas-taasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral (KASAMA).

Steering the council forward is Vice Governor Dusttin L. Rosales from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) as CVG Chairperson, alongside Vice Governor Ashley Jem C. Flores from the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy (CEBA) as Vice Chairperson.

Facilitated by the Incoming KASAMA President Janmel Q. Bordios and former CVG Chairperson and CCS Vice Goveror Maria Vianell Tadoy, the election gathered vice governors across colleges to deliberate, share their visions for empowered college student councils, and cast their votes.

As part of the KASAMA Legislative Body, the CVG remains committed to passing vital college-level regulations, building strong systems, and ensuring every student's voice is heard.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟭!

The Council of the Vice Governors (CVG), in collaboration with the MSU IIT Office of Student Development Services, extends our heartfelt gratitude to our resource speakers, university officials, partner offices, facilitators, volunteers, and, most especially, to all the student leaders who took the time to learn, participate, and grow with us.

This may be the end of the orientation, but it is only the beginning of your leadership journey. May the knowledge and experiences you've gained today guide you in creating meaningful impact within your respective colleges and organizations.

𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝟱: 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁

The learning sessions continued with Topic 5: Gender-Fair Language and Safe Spaces Act, facilitated by Asst. Prof. Phyllis Teanco, Director of the Office of Student Development Services (OSDS).

During the session, Asst. Prof. Teanco emphasized the importance of using gender-fair language and fostering safe, inclusive, and respectful environments within the university community.

Ma'am Teanco also discussed the significance of the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313) in promoting dignity, preventing gender-based harassment, and encouraging student leaders to uphold equality and respect in all aspects of campus governance and leadership.

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 ⚖

The Crafting Resolutions and Legislative Proposals Workshop is now in full swing at the MSU-IIT University Gymnasium, bringing together the newly elected student leaders in an engaging session of learning and collaboration.

Under the guidance of Ms. Catherine Badilla, Former KASAMA Senator, participants are actively brainstorming and developing resolutions and legislative proposals that address the needs and aspirations of the student body.

Through this interactive workshop, the delegates are gaining practical knowledge on crafting well-structured legislative measures while strengthening their skills in democratic governance, critical thinking, and effective student representation.

Ms. Catherine Badilla, former KASAMA Senator, is currently facilitating Topic 4: Crafting Resolutions and Legislative Proposals, where she guides newly elected student leaders through the fundamentals of drafting resolutions and proposing legislative measures.

The session emphasizes the importance of clear, well-structured, and impactful proposals in addressing student concerns and promoting responsive, effective, and accountable student governance.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The newly elected student leaders from the different colleges are grouped into two teams for a 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, where they practice and execute proper parliamentary motions, deliberation, and decision-making in a simulated legislative setting.

The activity allows participants to apply the concepts discussed during the orientation while strengthening their confidence, collaboration, and leadership skills in conducting orderly and effective meetings.

𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝟮: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Ms. Alyha Zshiazny B. Lantud and Mr. Elmar Albios from the Office of Student Development Services (OSDS) are currently facilitating discussions on the processes for on-campus and off-campus student activities, equipping newly elected student leaders with the knowledge needed to organize University-sanctioned programs effectively.

Ms. Lantud discusses the procedures and requirements for conducting on-campus student activities, while Mr. Albios presents the process for off-campus student activities, highlighting the provisions of CMO No. 63 and the policies that ensure student activities are conducted safely, responsibly, and in compliance with University regulations.

The session highlights the essential requirements, approval processes, and responsibilities of student organizations in conducting on-campus events, ensuring that every activity is aligned with University policies while promoting organized, safe, and meaningful student engagement.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼, Director of the MSU-IIT Office of Student Development Services (OSDS), formally opened ONE Student Leaders 2026 by welcoming the newly elected student leaders and emphasizing the significance of their roles in fostering responsible and inclusive student governance.

In her opening remarks, she reminded the officers that leadership is not merely a position but a commitment to serve the student body with integrity, accountability, and dedication. She also extended her gratitude to the Council of Vice Governors and everyone who made the orientation possible.

As the orientation officially commenced, student leaders began a shared journey toward becoming more effective, competent, and service-driven leaders for the MSU-IIT community.
