โThe Philippines is one of the worldโs biodiversity hotspotsโ, perhaps one of the most familiar lines in every biodiversity study, yet one that continues to hold great significance.
From forests and coral reefs to mangroves and microorganisms, the Philippines is home to a diversity of life found across our islands and ecosystems. Many of these species exist nowhere else in the world, making our biodiversity both unique and invaluable.
This International Day for Biodiversity, let us celebrate the richness of Philippine biodiversity while recognizing our shared responsibility to protect and preserve it. Conserving biodiversity means safeguarding ecosystems, livelihoods, scientific discovery, and the future of generations to come.

Coffee on one hand and reviewers on the other, whether youโre scrambling to solve that integral, memorizing one last biochemical pathway, or trying to recall that gene mutation, know that youโre not alone in the finals week grind.
The sleepless nights, packed notes, and endless readings may feel overwhelming now, but every effort you make brings you one step closer to that flat one.
Take a deep breath, trust what youโve learned, and give it your best shot.
Good luck on your final examinations, Ka-Haynayan!

For the past years, the Mindanao State UniversityโIligan Institute of Technology has consistently upheld its brand of excellence in higher education. This year, 25 alumni of the Bachelor of Science in Biology (Microbiology) program under the Department of Biological Sciences successfully passed the 2026 Certification Examination for Registered Microbiologists administered by the Philippine Academy of Microbiology, achieving a remarkable 80.65% passing rate. Notably, 7 of these passers secured spots in the Top 10 examinees.
This achievement reflects not only the dedication and perseverance of the graduates, but also the strength of MSU-IITโs academic training, research culture, and commitment to producing globally competent leaders in their field. It highlights the universityโs continued role in shaping professionals who contribute meaningfully to science and national development.
As these newly registered microbiologists step into their respective fields, they carry with them the values and excellence instilled by the university, true to its mantra of influencing the future.
The Haynayan Society proudly congratulates these new Registered Microbiologists for their outstanding accomplishment, a testament to what passion, discipline, and quality education can achieve.
