Master in Data Science

06/05/2026

Congratulations to our Master in Data Science students, Francis Rafael Dulay and Helmar Israel, for successfully presenting their research papers during the School of Interdisciplinary Studies 2026 Research Colloquium held last May 4, 2026 at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology.

📌 Francis Rafael Dulay
“The Talking Database: An Agentic AI NL-to-SQL Framework for Autonomous CRUD Operations”

📌 Helmar Israel
“Wing-Based Identification of Culicoides spp. via ResNet-50 Feature Extraction and Machine Learning”

Their successful presentations mark an important milestone in their academic journey and serve as one of the key requirements toward graduation. Up next is the Capstone Final Defense — another step closer to transforming their research into meaningful contributions to science, technology, and society.

The Master in Data Science Program community proudly celebrates your achievement and looks forward to the impact your work will create beyond the university. Padayon and best wishes on your upcoming final defense!

We are pleased to share that our research paper,
“From Logs to Defense: Machine Learning-Based Anomaly Detection in Web Servers Using Nginx Data”
is now officially published in the proceedings of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA 2026).
The paper is published under IEEE, a globally recognized publisher known for its rigorous peer-review standards and high-quality scientific contributions. The proceedings are also expected to be indexed in Scopus, further extending the visibility and impact of this work within the global research community.
More importantly, this publication reflects what we stand for in the Master in Data Science (MDS) program—
👉 applying data science to real-world problems,
👉 contributing to the advancement of knowledge, and
👉 producing research that meets international standards of quality.
As we open applications for a new cohort, we invite you to be part of a program where your work can move beyond the classroom and into recognized scientific contributions.
Turn data into direction. Build the expertise to lead in a data-driven world.
