๐ฏ๐๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐ซ๐๐!
When a faucet leaked, a shelf needed building, or a problem seemed too big for me to handle, somehow you always knew what to do. Growing up, I thought you could fix everything. As I got older, I realized that what you were really fixing was my fear, my doubt, and my belief that I had to face things alone.
Dad, Papa, Daddy, Tatay, Itay, Popoโthank you.
Thank you for the early mornings, the long drives, the silent sacrifices, and the countless times you put your family before yourself. Thank you for teaching us how to be brave, how to work hard, and how to keep going when life gets difficult. Some of your greatest acts of love were never spoken aloudโthey were found in the things you repaired, the burdens you carried, and the dreams you quietly helped build.
While today celebrates fathers, fatherhood itself is a collection of everyday moments: teaching a child how to ride a bike, checking if the doors are locked at night, fixing what is broken, and standing strong so others can lean on you. These moments may seem ordinary, but they are the foundations of a home.
And today, we also celebrate those who chose to step into a fatherโs roleโgrandfathers, uncles, older brothers, guardians, mentors, single mothers who carried both responsibilities, and every person who became a source of guidance, protection, and unconditional support. Fatherhood is not defined solely by blood, but by the love, sacrifice, and presence someone gives to another.
Lynxes, take a moment today to honor the fathers and father figures who have shaped your journey. Whether through a heartfelt message, a warm embrace, a shared meal, or simply spending time together, let them know they are appreciated. And for the Lynxes whose fathers are no longer with us, may their lessons continue to guide your path and may their love remain present in every achievement and every dream you pursue.
To every father, and to everyone who chose to be a father when someone needed oneโthank you. ๐

The College of Science and Mathematics โ Student Council (CSM-SC), through its Community Extension Affairs (CEA) Committee, successfully conducted MAGBUNYI: Ikalawang Yugto โ Sustaining Care for the Elderly Residents of the Home for the Aged Foundation on June 8, 2026, at the Bishop Bienvenido Tudtud Memorial Home for the Aged, Brgy. Canaway, Tibanga, Iligan City. This second chapter of the Magbunyi initiative focused on sustaining the health and well-being of the beloved elderly residents. Continuing its mission of community service and social responsibility, the Council upholds its commitment through this initiative, which aims to extend support, compassion, and companionship to the elderly residents through the donation of essential goods. The Council turned over various food necessities, including sacks of rice, fruits, vegetables, and other grocery items that will help support the daily needs of the residents.
This meaningful initiative was made possible through the collective generosity and shared spirit of service within the CSM community, ensuring that the residents feel continuously valued, supported, and remembered.
The Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Home for the Aged Foundation, most notably to Sister Maria Rebusto, for graciously welcoming the student council once again. Unwavering support allowed the Council to seamlessly continue its dedicated advocacy toward uplifting the lives of our dear lolas and lolos.
As the day concluded, the CSM-SC left the foundation inspired by the resilience of our lolas and lolos and deeply fulfilled by the opportunity to foster enduring bonds. The Council left carrying the reminder that aging is a journey best accompanied by compassion, dignity, and the assurance that no one is forgotten.

Before we celebrate the 128th Independence Day of the Philippines, it is important to remember that freedom was never freely givenโit was fought for, defended, and sacrificed for by generations of Filipinos who dreamed of a nation that could stand on its own.
Today, many of us share frustrations about the challenges our country continues to face. We witness issues that test our faith in institutions, leadership, and progress. As young Filipinos, it is easy to feel discouraged when change seems slow and problems persist.
Yet Independence Day reminds us that our nation's story has never been defined by its struggles alone. It is a story of courage, resilience, and hope. Our heroes endured oppression, hardship, and uncertainty because they believed that future generations deserved the right to shape their own future.
As students and leaders, we honor their legacy not only by remembering their sacrifices but by embracing our responsibility to become active and responsible citizens. Patriotism is not measured solely by wordsโit is reflected in our commitment to truth, integrity, service, and the pursuit of positive change within our communities.
Through education, leadership, and collective action, we contribute to the continuous building of a stronger Philippines. Every act of service, every voice raised for what is right, and every effort to uplift others becomes part of the nation-building that our heroes envisioned.
This 128th Independence Day, may we celebrate not only the freedom won by the generations before us but also the responsibility entrusted to us as the next generation of Filipinos.
May we continue to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and work together toward a future worthy of the sacrifices that secured our liberty.
