𝗗𝗔𝗬 5 | 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗟𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗥: 𝗔 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚!

What an unforgettable, high-octane ending to Welcoming Week! Day 5 brought our whole community together for GAAP 2026: General Assembly and Acquaintance Party, and CSM made sure the entire university felt our presence from sunrise to late into the night.

We started our morning at the General Assembly, taking in key university directions and administrative updates with KASAMA. But the moment the College Showcase began, the atmosphere shifted completely. The gym shook as our freshies and upperclassmen roared the CSM College Chants at the top of their lungs, filling the air with raw pride and undeniable energy!

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for; the unveiling of the College Icons. Commandingly stepping into the spotlight like a force straight out of Equestria, our icon proved that science and math are far more than just equations and formulas; they are pure passion, strategic brilliance, and magic! Dressed in a fiery crimson-and-dark-red ensemble, complete with towering lynx ears, sharp fangs, and powerful golden-clawed staffs, she calculatedly struck every pose with unyielding confidence. Embodying our sharp minds and unbreakable bond, give it up for the ever-so-fierce, ever-so-lively diva of CSM: 𝑺𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝑳𝒚𝒏𝒙𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒕!

As night fell, the energy only grew. The stage exploded with show-stopping performances from the MSU-IIT Wildcats, Echoes, Orions, Drag Superstars, and the CED-IDS Pop Dance Champions. Between serving looks on the Best Dressed stage and joining the Random Play Dance, we danced the rest of the night away to the beats of DJ Ravebow Dash!

Welcome home—the spirit of CSM is a force no magic can tame! 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒖𝒔, 𝑨𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒖𝒔, 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒖𝒔 𝑪𝑺𝑴!

𝗗𝗔𝗬 4 | 𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡!

Day 4 took the welcoming celebration to the CSM Atrium for an action-packed morning with our new batch of freshies!

Our freshies tested their agility and team spirit in iconic games like Trip to Jerusalem and Bring Me, while also hearing inspirational messages and warm welcomes from our college leaders and student council governors.

Thank you to Ma'am Gina, Outgoing Gov. Molina, Incoming Gov. Dura, and everyone involved for bringing this program to life!

𝗗𝗔𝗬 3 | 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬, 𝗦𝗘𝗧, 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧!

Welcoming Week kept the momentum going as our freshies gathered at the MSU-IIT Gym for the College of Science and Mathematics Orientation!

From diving into the history, mission, and departments of CSM to learning the ropes of academic life, student policies, and support services, our newest scientists and mathematicians got a complete playbook for thriving in college.

Our freshies also got a glimpse of student life, campus engagement, and student organizations straight from our student leaders, plus invaluable tips from our CSM alumni.

Thank you to our esteemed speakers, faculty, emcees Ms. Crista Jane Capin and Mr. Nhille Ellica, as well as our alumni for their inspiring video messages! Most of all, thank you to every freshie who stayed engaged throughout the entire session!

𝗗𝗔𝗬 2 | 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗘: 𝗢𝗡

Welcoming Week got even more exciting as the CSM-SC Booth opened its doors for our freshies!

From getting creative with face painting, testing your brain with trivia questions, grabbing a little something from the food pantry, to capturing memories at the photobooth—there was no shortage of ways to have fun.

And of course, the best part? Our freshies clearly had a blast! From trying out the activities to taking photos and enjoying the little treats, Day 2 was definitely a fun-filled day for everyone.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 1 | 𝗖𝗦𝗠 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 ’30

The energy across campus was electric on Monday, August 10, 2026, as MSU-IIT welcomed 2,897 new scholars for its annual Freshmen Welcoming Week. The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) community proudly joined the celebration with enthusiasm and spirit.

The morning featured inspiring messages from Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Pamela Resurreccion and Chancellor Prof. Alizedney Ditucalan, reminding the Class of 2030 to embrace growth, challenges, and the opportunities ahead. CSM’s dedication was also highlighted as 𝗕𝗦 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 freshman 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 received a special shoutout for being the first student to enter the university gates on day one.

The program continued with the university orientation, Freshmen Oath, induction of new KASAMA officers, and cultural performances from Sining ng Pagsalubong. In the afternoon, CSM’s booths drew freshies with activities such as the crowd-favorite face painting station, creating opportunities for students to connect and show their college pride.

With the theme “𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚,” our CSM freshies have already shown that they are ready to question, innovate, and excel.
