Our fellow MMTian, Mildred Sarcol, is currently facing a difficult time, his mother is suffering from acute gastritis and is currently admitted to the hospital. The medical expenses are becoming a heavy burden for the family.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐲, 𝐓𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲

‎Typhoon Basyang has devastated many communities, including our fellow Ka-Puthaws and other affected Iliganons—wrecking homes, washing away belongings, and leaving marks of damage that may take weeks or even longer to recover.

‎To help ease their burden, the Junior Society of Metallurgical Engineers of the Philippines (JSMEP), with the assistance from the Society of Metallurgical Engineering of the Philippines (SMEP), extended a helping hand by sharing warmth and compassion through a two-day donation drive of food packs, candles, and water for those in need.
‎
‎This two-day donation drive spanned from February 8 to 9. In the first wave, a total of 65 food packs, 100 bottles of water, 36 packs of candles, donated clothes, and packed relief goods were distributed to the affected METE students and a community in Bernales, Tipanoy. For the second wave, a total of 200 food packs, 200 bottles of water, candles, and soaps were distributed to the evacuees in Miguel Obach Memorial Elementary School Evacuation Center and another part in Bernales, Tipanoy.

‎Of course, this act of service would not have been possible without the people behind it. We sincerely thank our sponsors—faculty members, Metallurgical Engineers, companies, and METE students—who generously provided financial assistance to purchase the essential items that we were able to donate, as well as the individuals who reached out and extended their support through in-kind donations. We also express our deepest appreciation to our hardworking volunteers who willingly gave their time, effort, and presence to make this initiative successful.

‎In these trying times, recovery may take a while, but if we stand together and extend our hands as one, we can help lighten the burden of those affected, even in the smallest ways, and bring light in this dark️ times.

In line with the recent Typhoon Basyang that has affected many areas, homes, and families, we are humbly asking for any assistance you can offer to support our affected fellow Ka-Puthaws, IITians, and other affected Iliganons.

Donations such as food, clothing, drinking water, bedding, and other basic necessities will be greatly appreciated and accommodated. Any financial assistance is also welcome.
