Somewhere, a child sits quietly listening to the stories of a past they never lived through.
Stories of fear they only heard on the radio. Of silence that kept television screens from telling the whole story. Of voices taken away, left unheard in a time when speaking came with a cost.
The child listens, trying to understand a history that came before them. But the question lingers: ๐ช๐ถ๐น๐น ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ป๐น๐ ๐ธ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐, ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐๐ฒ ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป?
What we choose to do with history today ๐ด๐ฉ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ด ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ญ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ข ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ญ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ต ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ธ. And as long as silence still threatens to swallow the truth, ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐.
We remember because one day, that child will grow old enough to tell these stories to another child. And what we choose to say, what we choose to leave unspoken, will shape the history they are left with.
The stories must be carried forward, not only as memories of horror alone, but ๐ข๐ด ๐ธ๐ข๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ๐ด ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ. The courage of those who spoke despite fear, the voices that persisted despite being silenced, and the freedoms that were fought for ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
๐ฅ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐น๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ. It is making sure that the child listening today ๐ธ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ท๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ณ๐บ๐ต๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ด ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ธ.
May we continue to seek the truth, protect our historical memory, and uphold the very values that allow every single voice to be heard.
