We are humbly reaching out to the community to ask for your kind assistance for the family of Denise Jayne Abao, a freshman BSEd-Filipino student of our institution. Recently, a devastating fire claimed their home and all their personal belongings, leaving them with nothing. More heartbreakingly, the fire caused severe injuries to Denise’s two siblings, who are currently in urgent need of intensive medical attention and support. This unfortunate event has left the family in a position of extreme vulnerability as they navigate the physical and emotional trauma of the incident. We are seeking financial assistance and in-kind donations to help cover medical expenses and provide basic necessities for the family during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity and compassion will mean so much to Denise and her loved ones as they begin the long journey of recovery and rebuilding.

𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁

The 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗱) conducted a donation drive in response to the devastating impact left by Basyang. Through the drive, the council received monetary and in-kind donations that were then utilized to provide relief to the victims of the storm.

The operations reached Cardinals, CEDtizens, IITians, and communities all over Iligan City. The proceeds included school supplies contributed by our Cardinals from their sanctions, food packs prepared in collaboration with the College of Education-Student Council (CED-SC), various clothing items provided by our generous donors, and more. This report shows the amount of monetary and in-kind donations received, the relief supplies distributed, as well as the scope of the operations.

When Typhoon Basyang poured it's furry over Iligan city, it left behind waters that rose— and hearts that trembled. Homes were soaked, streets were swallowed, and many families found themselves holding on to hope as tightly as they could.

As the floodwaters rose, so too did the kindness of many hands.

Here's the highlights that capture the humanity that surfaced when the waters rose. Typhoon Basyang may have shaken our city, but it also revealed its gentlest strength, the SLEd Officers of DPRE moving quietly, purposefully— with empathy.

In collaboration with 𝗗𝗧𝗧𝗘-𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣, 𝗗𝗦𝗠𝗘-𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗠𝗔, 𝗗𝗣𝗥𝗘-𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗗, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗣𝗘-𝗗𝗣𝗘𝗦𝗢, the College of Education Student Council (CED-SC) continues its donation drive to support families and CEDtizens affected by Bagyong Basyang in Iligan City. Monetary donations may be sent through the 𝙂𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙝 and 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙌𝙍 𝙘𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙨 provided, while in-kind donations are also being accepted to help address immediate needs.
