Love fills the halls of MaSci/SSES on this special day, making our school day feel brighter and happier than usual. Today, we celebrate Valentine's Day, by taking a short break from our regular school work. We're making heartfelt cards for the people we care about, like our family and teachers.
Even though some don't know much about the history of Valentine's Day, what is certain is it's a day when we show love more than usual. However, every day can be like Valentine's Day as long as we remember to be kind and loving, just like God's love for us. We learn that we love others because God loved us first, and that's a truth that lasts forever.
Thank you so much to my SSES 6 Kids for the love, the Valentine surprises, the flowers, and the presents you gave. But more than ever, your appreciation of my work and our time together mean so much to me. I am a better teacher each year because of these experiences. To the parents of my pupils, thank you as always for the love and support. God bless you!

"Drop Everything and Read" (DEAR) is a reading program commonly implemented in schools. It involves setting aside a designated time during the school day where students, as well as teachers, pause their regular activities and dedicate the time solely to reading. The goal is to promote a reading culture, improve literacy, and foster a love for reading.
Typically, during DEAR time, students have the freedom to choose their reading material, whether it's a book, magazine, or any other suitable material. The program aims to create a relaxed and focused atmosphere, encouraging students to engage in independent reading. This not only enhances their reading skills but also exposes them to a variety of genres and topics.
DEAR programs contribute to a positive learning environment and emphasize the importance of making time for reading amidst busy schedules. It's a simple yet effective strategy to cultivate a lifelong habit of reading and intellectual growth.
