𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚. 📈

There is an obvious difference between a rebel and a researcher. Researchers happen to carry thermometers instead of rifles. The Third-Year (Block A) of BS Biology in Biodiversity enrolled in Plant Biodiversity (BDV 102) and Terrestrial Biodiversity (BDV 103) spent two days in Sikyop, Rogongon, Iligan City, collecting data that will be used for Iligan City’s sustainable future. For them, these woods aren't a hideout. They are a living laboratory. They are there to document, to measure, and to protect. From plant diversity to terrestrial health, they’re gathering the data needed to keep this ecotourism hub thriving. The boots are muddy, but the purpose is crystal clear. They carry transect tapes, not weapons. Their only target is the data that will keep Iligan City green for generations.

There is a world of difference between hiding in the forest and studying it.🌳📚

This session will explore how artificial intelligence and bioinformatics are reshaping the way we analyze data, test hypotheses, and push scientific boundaries.
