The College of Nursing proudly joined the celebration of ASEAN Month and Buwan ng Wika 2026 a meaningful celebration of unity, culture, diversity, and collaboration.
The celebration began with a flag-raising ceremony featuring the different ASEAN countries, symbolizing the unity and shared identity of nations across Southeast Asia. This was followed by the showcasing of talents, cultural presentations, and various activities, where students expressed their creativity while celebrating the richness of our traditions and languages.
The festivities then continued with the culmination program, bringing together the different highlights and achievements of the celebration. The event concluded with a joyful salo-salo, providing an opportunity for students and faculty to come together, share, and celebrate as one community.
Beyond the festivities, the celebration reminded us why preserving our culture and strengthening international collaboration matter. For future nurses, understanding different cultures, traditions, languages, and beliefs is essential in providing respectful and patient-centered care. Through collaboration with other countries and communities, nurses can exchange knowledge, learn diverse healthcare practices, and contribute to a more inclusive and connected healthcare system.
May we continue to take pride in who we are, appreciate the cultures around us, and build bridges of understanding and collaboration carrying these values with us as future nurses and global healthcare professionals.
