Mapping the Landscape of Durio zibethinus Research: A Bibliometric Analysis of Southeast Asia’s Scientific Output
Sefiu Olalekan Olaleye | Aishat Abiola Ogidan-Adebayo

Durian is big business in Southeast Asia (SEA) and the science behind it is growing fast. This paper presents the first bibliometric mapping of durian (D. zibethinus) research in SEA, using Scopus data from 2004–2024. Out of 717 global publications, SEA contributed 89.8% of the total output, with Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand leading. The analysis also identifies top contributors (institutions, authors, funding agencies) and highlights how research investment aligns with economic leadership in the durian industry, offering a useful roadmap for strengthening R&D and export competitiveness across the region.

Development of an Integrated Ultrasonic Device for Visually Impaired Individuals: The B.R.A.T. (Block Recognition Assistant for Typhlosis)
Raphael Kevin Nagal | Joanna Grace Invina

This study introduces B.R.A.T., a sensor-based assistive walker that supports safer mobility through ultrasonic obstacle detection with three alerts: LED, buzzer, and vibration motor. Bench-testing across obstacles at 30 cm, 45 cm, and 60 cm (plywood, concrete, steel; 15 repetitions) found the LED activated fastest, followed by the buzzer and vibration (p < 0.001; partial η² = 0.99), while detection accuracy remained consistent across materials (p = 0.236). The buzzer output averaged 79.75 dB at 3267.93 Hz, within an optimal range for hearing—supporting the feasibility of a low-cost, locally assembled assistive prototype for controlled settings and future user-centered trials.

More Splanchnocranial than Neurocranial Differences in Two Species of Sylvilagus Gray, 1867 (Lagomorpha: Leporidae)
Pere Pares-Casanova

How do closely related rabbits differ in skull form? This study compared two Sylvilagus species (26 S. brasiliensis vs 12 S. floridanus) using geometric morphometrics on the ventral skull base, mapping landmarks across two modules: the splanchnocranium and neurocranium. Results show that shape differences are more pronounced in the splanchnocranial module, and these interspecific patterns may reflect feeding-related differences between the species.

Intergenerational Continuity of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) among Cebuano Mothers: A Moderated Mediation Model
Reymart Luspe

How does childhood trauma carry over across generations? Using Bronfenbrenner’s Process–Person–Context–Time (PPCT) model, this study analyzed data from 211 mothers in Cebu City, Philippines and found evidence that parental proximal stressors can transmit ACE risk to children—especially when negative parenting practices are present (moderated mediation model, R² = .32, p < .001). The findings emphasize the value of preventive education and early intervention to reduce intergenerational trauma and protect child wellbeing.

Green Synthesis and Antibacterial Evaluation of Silver Nanoparticles using Senna surattensis Extracts
Mustafa Jadoua | Munther Abduljaleel Muhammad-Ali | Nassir Abdullah Alyousif

This study highlights an eco-friendly (green) approach to producing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from Senna surattensis plant extracts, with antibacterial testing against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from hospital wastewater. Using standard nanoparticle characterization (UV–Vis, SEM, XRD, FTIR, GC–MS), the authors report strong antibacterial activity—reaching up to 26 mm inhibition against Pseudomonas aeruginosa at 50 mg/mL—supporting the potential of biosynthesized AgNPs as promising alternatives to conventional antibiotics.
