The Department of Mathematics and Statistics welcomed its incoming 𝐁𝐒 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐒 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 students during the opening of the 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 on August 3, 2026, at CSM Lecture Hall B.

The program aims to strengthen students’ foundational competencies in Algebra and Trigonometry as they build readiness for Calculus I and other first-year mathematics courses. All incoming first-year BS Mathematics and BS Statistics students are encouraged to actively participate in this academic support initiative as they transition into their respective degree programs.

🌟 Meet Our 2nd Plenary Speaker 🌟

The SPSTAt 2026 International Conference on Statistics, Data Science, and Analytics is honored to introduce Prof. Dr. Thomas Neyens as our second plenary speaker.

Prof. Dr. Neyens is an Assistant Professor at the UHasselt Data Science Institute (DSI) and the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and Statistical Bioinformatics (I-BioStat). He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at KU Leuven, Belgium.

He is the Flemish promoter of the Co-CiPhil ITP Project, where he leads and supports research on quantitative analysis through citizen science and spatio-temporal analysis of ecological and epidemiological data. His contributions to the project include delivering workshop courses, mentoring research initiatives, and facilitating the development of citizen-science studies and stakeholder engagement activities.
