𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬: 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

Faculty members from the 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 - 𝗜𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 conducted a peer teaching session for the 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. The session covered 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Physics, and Chemistry.

As part of its commitment to community extension, the program brought the knowledge and expertise of the Civil Engineering faculty beyond the university. Through this initiative, students were given the opportunity to strengthen their foundations and gain a deeper understanding of concepts that extend beyond the basics.

PROJECT AEIOU CONDUCTS SESSION 1 LECTURE-WORKSHOP

Project AEIOU successfully conducted its Session 1 Lecture-Workshop today with the Grade 5 learners of Sta. Isabel Sur Elementary School (SISES), marking another significant activity in the implementation of the university’s extension initiatives for meaningful and community-responsive learning.

The session was facilitated by Project AEIOU Component Leaders Ms. Frances Ivy C. Valdez and Dr. David P. Pascua, who guided the learners through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities designed to strengthen their understanding of language, literature, culture, identity, and social interaction.

The conduct of the activity was further supported by the SISES Grade 5 Advisers and ISU-I Student Volunteers from the PeerLink Club, Council of Young Educators, and VOWELS, whose active participation contributed to the smooth facilitation of the workshop and meaningful engagement of the learners.

Through the collective efforts of CEd faculty members, partner teachers, and student volunteers, Project AEIOU – Advance English through Integrated Opportunities for Understanding continues to provide relevant and learner-centered opportunities that promote communication skills, cultural awareness, confidence, and active participation among young learners.

The project extends its sincere appreciation to all partners and volunteers whose commitment and service continue to strengthen the university’s engagement with its partner communities.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔| The Isabela State University – City of Ilagan Campus, through the Community Engagement Office, conducted the Project tilted “Light of Little Stars” spearheaded by the School of Midwifery led by Ms. Ruth S. Malayao held at Barangay Lenzon, Gamu, Isabela, benefiting kindergarten learners in the community.

The activity aimed to promote proper hygiene, personal care, and healthy habits among young learners through engaging and age-appropriate activities. The children participated in demonstrations and hands-on activities on proper handwashing, toothbrushing, and nail care, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene in maintaining good health. 🧼🪥✂️

Through this initiative, the project seeks to instill positive hygiene practices among children at an early age and contribute to their overall health, well-being, and development.

The Light of Little Stars continues to illuminate young minds and nurture healthy habits—because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine. ✨🌟

𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐒’ 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘:
“From Evidence to Action, From Action to Impact”

The Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus, through the Extension and Training Services (ETS), successfully conducted the Strengthening Extensionists’ Capacity on September 2, 2026, at the New CEAT-AVR, ISU-Ilagan Campus. The participants were warmly welcomed by Dr. Precious Joy L. Ramos, ETS Director – Ilagan Campus, who officially opened the activity and emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity of extensionists. This was followed by a message from Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, PhD, Cluster Executive Officer of ISU–Ilagan Campus presented by AFS Director Mr. Armand Francis Ruma, who highlighted the value of commitment, collaboration, and continuous improvement in fulfilling the University's extension mandate. His words served as a meaningful reminder that the work of extensionists goes beyond conducting activities, it is about creating opportunities, responding to community needs, and contributing to positive and sustainable change.

The first major learning session, “From Research to Extension: Developing Result-Based Extension,” was facilitated by Dr. Ma. Theresa L. Eustaquio, University and Campus Director for Community Engagement. The session highlighted the importance of transforming research findings into relevant and responsive extension initiatives that address the actual needs of communities.

The afternoon continued with a focus on impact and sustainability. Dr. Ferdinand Bulusan, Chair of the Cagayan Valley Extensionists Council, led the session on “Conducting Impact Assessment of Extension Activities,” encouraging participants to look beyond the number of activities conducted and outputs produced and instead examine the meaningful changes brought about by extension interventions. This was followed by a Discussion and Open Forum, where participants had the opportunity to raise questions, share experiences, and exchange ideas with fellow extensionists and resource persons.

At the end of the learning sessions, Dr. Precious Joy L. Ramos, ETS Director, presented the Updates on the Extension Monitoring System. The session provided important updates and guidance on the monitoring of extension programs and activities, emphasizing the value of proper documentation, systematic monitoring, and timely reporting in ensuring that extension initiatives are effectively implemented and aligned with the University’s goals.

More than just a one-day training, the Strengthening Extensionists’ Capacity 2026 served as a meaningful avenue for learning, collaboration, and reflection. It reminded us that effective extension work is not simply about conducting activities, it is about understanding community needs, using evidence to guide our actions, measuring the impact of our interventions, and continuously finding ways to create meaningful and lasting change.

𝐈𝐒𝐔-𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄 as prelude 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘺𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 2026 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩.

ILAGAN CITY, Isabela — The Extension and Training Services (ETS) Office of Isabela State University–Ilagan Campus officially launched AlkanSHARE on August 17, 2026, during the Campus Flag Raising Ceremony, marking the early preparations for the PANAGYAMAN 2026 Grand Outreach Program.

Now in its second year, PANAGYAMAN is an annual year-end outreach initiative of ISU–Ilagan that brings campus experts closer to its adopted barangay through community-based and discipline-responsive extension activities.

Through the initiative, recognized student organizations received bamboo alkansya, and their members are encouraged to voluntarily contribute a coin each day until December. The resources generated will help fund the activities of Panagyaman 2026.

The activities will be developed and implemented by the participating student organizations, with the assistance of their advisers, in line with their respective academic programs and areas of expertise.

The initiative is designed to provide students with an opportunity to apply their classroom learning, skills, creativity, and discipline-specific knowledge in responding to actual community needs.

Present during the ceremonial launching were Director for Extension and Training Services Dr. Precious Joy Ramos, Director for Student Affairs Ma’am Remedios Lamorena, and college coordinators of ETS Ma’am Ruth S. Malayao, Sir Ryan M. Amigo, Sir Jomar Cristobal, and Ma’am Kerjun Lamorena. The event was also graced by Cluster Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Alfonso R. Simon. Representatives of recognized student organizations were also present to receive their bamboo alkansya.

The AlkanSHARE campaign will run from August to December 2026, culminating in the Grand Panagyaman Outreach Program in December at the University’s adopted barangay.

Through AlkanSHARE, ISU–Ilagan seeks to strengthen student participation in extension work while promoting a culture of giving, volunteerism, experiential learning, and community engagement.

✨ PROJECT SMART | Culminating Activity for the Children of Lingap Center ✨

Project SMART (Strengthening Speaking Skills, Mastering Reading, Cultivating Active Listening, Refining Writing, and Fostering Thoughtful Communication) is a series of learning activities designed for the children of Lingap Center, aimed at developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while building confidence and self-expression.

This initiative was led by faculty members from the College of Education, with Ma’am Michelle Gumiran Quijano as the Project Leader, and Ma'am Helen Asio, Ma'am Janette Domingo Yap, and Ma'am Ma. Cristina Lalaine Nerona as component leaders, under the Extension Services Unit

The project’s culminating activity was marked by a simple yet meaningful program. The children received gifts from the project implementers, and the event was graced by the presence of the Campus Director, Dr. Precious Joy L. Ramos.

In celebration of their wedding anniversary, the Cluster Executive Officer, Engr.Alfonso R. Simon, together with his family, shared their blessings by providing McDonald’s happy meal to the children at the shelter. This thoughtful gesture added joy and warmth to the celebration and made the activity truly meaningful for everyone.
