A milestone in strengthening research, extension, and community partnership ✨

The ISU-Ilagan Research and Extension Caravan marked the second caravan for research and the first-ever exposition for extension showcasing the campus extension programs, and community-based innovations, developed by the different colleges of the campus.

Anchored on the theme, “Bridging Innovation and Communities: Accelerating SDG Solutions through Research, Extension, and Stakeholder Collaboration,” the event gathered partner agencies, nearby municipalities, private institutions, and government organizations to explore innovations and possible technologies that may be adopted and implemented in their respective communities through extension partnerships.

The activity was also graced virtually by keynote speaker Mary Margaret “Marge” Macasaet-Barro, Executive Director of Makati Medical Center Foundation, Inc who shared valuable insights on community outreach, strategic partnerships, and innovation-driven collaboration.

The caravan served as a meaningful platform in transforming research outputs into sustainable community solutions while strengthening partnerships between the University and its stakeholders.

Together, we continue to bridge innovation and communities through research and extension. 💙

Precious Joy L. Ramos, Director for Extension and Training Services of Isabela State University – City of Ilagan Campus, together with the coordinators from the College of Nursing, Rayan M. Amigo, and the School of Midwifery, Ruth S. Malayao, visited several LGUs—Burgos, Gamu, Quirino, Aurora, Luna, Reina Mercedes, and Naguilian—to personally extend invitations to the upcoming Research and Extension Caravan.

The team had the opportunity to meet with municipal mayors and administrators, most of whom expressed enthusiasm to attend the event, explore the exhibits, and discuss possible collaborations with the University.

It was a meaningful engagement that reflects our shared commitment to strengthening partnerships and advancing sustainable community solutions through research and extension.

We look forward to welcoming our partners on May 7, 2026.

NEW IDENTITY FOR ISU-City of Ilagan EXTENSIONISTS

The Isabela State University officially introduced its Official ISU Extension Vest, which will serve as the uniform of faculty and staff during extension activities and community engagements.

Launched during the Campus flag ceremony, the vest aims to strengthen the identity and branding of ISU Extension Services, making the ISU-Ilagan Campus presence more visible and recognizable in partner communities.

The launching of the Extension Vest was made possible following the approval of the Cluster Executive Officer Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, Ph.D highlighting the campus continued commitment to strengthening its extension services and community engagement initiatives.

Through this initiative, ISU extensionists proudly carry not only a uniform, but also the mission of the university to serve, empower, and transform communities.

✨ PROJECT SMART | Culminating Activity for the Children of Lingap Center ✨

Project SMART (Strengthening Speaking Skills, Mastering Reading, Cultivating Active Listening, Refining Writing, and Fostering Thoughtful Communication) is a series of learning activities designed for the children of Lingap Center, aimed at developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while building confidence and self-expression.

This initiative was led by faculty members from the College of Education, with Ma’am Michelle Gumiran Quijano as the Project Leader, and Ma'am Helen Asio, Ma'am Janette Domingo Yap, and Ma'am Ma. Cristina Lalaine Nerona as component leaders, under the Extension Services Unit

The project’s culminating activity was marked by a simple yet meaningful program. The children received gifts from the project implementers, and the event was graced by the presence of the Campus Director, Dr. Precious Joy L. Ramos.

In celebration of their wedding anniversary, the Cluster Executive Officer, Engr.Alfonso R. Simon, together with his family, shared their blessings by providing McDonald’s happy meal to the children at the shelter. This thoughtful gesture added joy and warmth to the celebration and made the activity truly meaningful for everyone.
