The St. Ferdinand College Medical & Dental Department successfully facilitated First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training last March 14, 2026, at the SFC's Valdez Hall, in collaboration with the SFC College Red Cross Youth and the City of Ilagan City Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

This whole-day training brought together students from different departments to learn and practice life-saving skills that are essential during emergencies. Participants were equipped with knowledge and hands-on experience in basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and proper emergency response, strengthening their readiness to act in critical situations.

The activity was made more meaningful through the expertise and dedication of our trainors from CCDRRMO rescue team, who generously shared their time, skills, and real-life experiences in handling emergencies. Their guidance ensured that learning was not only informative but also practical and impactful.

We would also like to acknowledge the efforts of our CRCY officers and advisers for their invaluable support in organizing this successful event, as well as the active participation of our students who demonstrated enthusiasm, cooperation, and a genuine commitment to learning.

This initiative reflects our continuous mission to promote health awareness, safety preparedness, and community service, empowering our students to become responsible individuals who are ready to respond and make a difference when it matters most.

👏 Together, we build a safer and more prepared community!

✨ Because every second counts… First Aid Saves Lives!

“Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver.”

In strong support of World Tuberculosis Day, the St. Ferdinand College Medical & Dental Department, in collaboration with the City Health Office I, proudly conducted a Free X-Ray Caravan at the SFC Gymnasium on March 23, 2026.

This initiative highlights our collective effort to combat tuberculosis (TB)—a disease that remains a major public health concern but is preventable, treatable, and curable with early detection and proper care. Participants were provided with free chest X-ray screening, vital signs assessment, health interviews, and HIV screening, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for the SFC community.

A key highlight of the activity was the health education session on tuberculosis delivered by Dr. Kristofer S. Bello, who shared valuable insights on TB symptoms, transmission, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment adherence empowering participants to take charge of their health.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the City Health Office I of City of Ilagan spearheaded by Dr. Red G. Cachapero, the City Health Officer for this Free X-Ray Caravan, and for their unwavering support in promoting community health and wellness. Your dedication plays a vital role in bringing quality healthcare services closer to the people.

This collaboration reflects the power of unity—where education meets service, and compassion meets action. Together with our dedicated healthcare professionals, partners, and volunteers, we take one step closer toward achieving a TB-free, healthier, and more resilient community.

Let us continue to stand together in this fight. Get screened, stay informed, and support one another—because ending TB is not just possible, it is within our reach. 💙
