𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | VDTNHS strengthens literacy, administers Phil-IRI in opening block

Vicente D. Trinidad National High School marked the opening of the new school term with the administration of the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) group screening test and Oral Reading Assessment across all junior high school levels.

The Phil-IRI group screening test, which covered both English and Filipino subjects, aimed to monitor the literacy levels of junior high students before the start of formal instruction for the school year.

Students who did not meet the passing score on the Phil-IRI will be given the Oral Reading Assessment, during which they receive guided support in reading and comprehension. This process not only helps teachers identify students’ needs but also helps learners strengthen their literacy skills and build confidence in reading.

Through these assessments, VDTNHS continues to uphold its commitment to fostering academic growth and ensuring that students are equipped with the foundational skills necessary for success in their studies.

Sa paggunita ng ika-128 anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan, ating binibigyang-pugay ang kabayanihan, sakripisyo, at diwang makabayan ng mga Pilipinong lumaban upang makamit ang kalayaan na ating tinatamasa ngayon.

Nawa'y magsilbing inspirasyon ang kanilang mga ipinaglaban upang patuloy nating mahalin, paglingkuran, at pangalagaan ang ating bayan. Bilang mga kabataang Pilipino, taglay natin ang mahalagang tungkulin na ipagpatuloy ang kanilang nasimulan sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa, responsableng pagkilos, at pagmamalasakit sa kapwa at sa bansa.

Sa araw na ito, sama-sama nating ipagdiwang ang kalayaang bunga ng tapang at pagkakaisa ng ating mga ninuno.

Smiles, excitement, and renewed determination filled the campus of Vicente D. Trinidad National High School as students officially began School Year 2026–2027 on June 8.

The reopening of classes marked the start of a new chapter for every VDTNHSian—one filled with opportunities to learn, discover new interests, strengthen friendships, and achieve academic goals. Students arrived on campus with enthusiasm as they reunited with classmates, met their teachers, and prepared themselves for the challenges and experiences that await them throughout the year.

To formally welcome the learners, an orientation program was conducted in the afternoon where School Principal Dr. Leo R. Banatao shared important reminders regarding school policies, student responsibilities, and the implementation of the new curriculum. He encouraged students to practice discipline, respect, and accountability, emphasizing that these values are essential in creating a safe and productive learning environment.

As classrooms once again echoed with lively conversations and eager participation, the VDTNHS community embraced the beginning of another meaningful academic year. With a shared commitment to excellence and personal growth, students, teachers, and school personnel look forward to making School Year 2026–2027 productive, inspiring, and successful for everyone.

Indeed, the first day of school is more than just the start of classes...it is the beginning of new dreams, new opportunities, and new achievements waiting to unfold.

📚 BACK TO SCHOOL? O BACKBURNER?

Isang araw na lang bago ang pasukan, pero mas mabigat pa yata ang iniisip ng iba kaysa sa mga school supplies nila. 😭

Alam mo yung pakiramdam na lagi kang nandiyan para sa isang tao, pero hindi ikaw ang unang pinipili? Yung tipong kausap ka lang kapag convenient, pero kapag may mas gusto siyang kasama, parang wala ka na ulit.

pinapanatili ka, pero hindi talaga pinipili.

Habang papalapit ang pasukan, sana hindi lang mga bag at notebooks ang ihanda natin. Sana matutunan din nating piliin ang mga taong pinaparamdam sa atin na mahalaga tayo, hindi yung ginagawa lang tayong reserba.
