I speak not only as a former Student Regent, but as a proud alumnus of President Ramon Magsaysay State University.

I strongly oppose the proposal to rename our university to Zambales State University.

This name is not just written on diplomas, buildings, and documents. It lives in the pride of every student, every graduate, every faculty member, and every community the university has served.

If we truly want to honor the future of our university, we must first protect its heritage.

The name President Ramon Magsaysay State University is more than a title.
It is our story.
It is our identity.
It is our pride.

Let us preserve it for the generations that will follow.

Ngayon, nais kong pasalamatan hindi lamang ang mga g**o ko ngayon, kundi lalo na ang mga naging g**o ko noon. Maraming salamat sa mga aral na inyong itinuro, sa mga gabay na inyong ibinahagi, at sa mga pagpapahalagang hanggang ngayon ay bitbit ko pa rin.

Ang inyong impluwensya ay hindi nagtapos nang matapos ang klase—patuloy itong nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa akin araw-araw.

You completed school in the midst of a global pandemic. No doubt your life was disrupted. No doubt there was added stress. No doubt there was uncertainty. Despite these challenges, or more accurately because of them, you are stronger. You are a stronger student having tested yourself. You are a stronger person finding the ingenuity and resolution you did not know you had.
