IFSU Hapao Campus secured its second consecutive championship in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Challenge Cup 2025, Cluster 1 (Undergraduate Program), during the Impact Awards Night held on December 18, 2025, at the IFSU Heritage Convention Hall organized by the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO).

The campus was recognized for its outstanding initiatives across ten United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The event also highlighted student participation in the university’s internationalization (IZN) efforts. Mr. Pablo Cuyahon shared his experiences and learnings from his participation in the Online Global Culture Exchange 2025. Mr. Clemark Pocdihon also attended as one of the students who participated in the World Indigenous Traditional Games (WITG) 2025 held in Taiwan along with Ismael John Dogwe.

Dr. Generose S. Ognayon, CED, underscored in her speech that the strength of the campus lies in the teamwork and shared responsibility of its employees and staff toward achieving broader institutional goals. “Through collaboration and commitment, even a small campus can make a meaningful impact when guided by clear direction and shared values,” she said. Dr. Ognayon also thanked President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon for the support extended to the campuses, as well as everyone who continues to give their assistance and trust to the campus.

These accomplishments, together with student participation in the university’s international engagements, reflect the continued implementation of sustainability-focused initiatives of IFSU Hapao Campus for both its students and the Hungduan community. They also acknowledge the collective efforts of the campus administration, faculty, staff, and students in sustaining academic programs and gradually strengthening the campus’ presence beyond the local setting, despite being one of the smaller campuses of the university.
