𝐈𝐅𝐒𝐔-𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

IFSU-Hapao Campus joins the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary through a short launching program during the flag ceremony today, September 7, 2026. With the theme “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan,” the activity highlighted the roles and responsibilities of public servants and marked the beginning of the campus’ monthlong observance.

In his inspirational message, Dr. Teroy D. Pacliw, OIC-Campus Executive Director, shared the importance of having a heart for public service and taking pride in one’s work. He emphasized that public office is a public trust and encouraged employees to perform their duties with dignity while pursuing continuous professional development to provide excellent service to clients.

Ms. Ronalyn Duyapat also facilitated a short information, education, and communication session on the Civil Service for employees and students, followed by the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan among campus employees.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Ferdinand Cabantac encouraged everyone to embrace the deeper meaning of public service, emphasizing that it goes beyond one’s profession. He highlighted the commitment to serve, lead with integrity, uphold accountability, and promote the welfare of the people. // CJD

𝐈𝐅𝐒𝐔-𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

As part of its continuing efforts to support partner schools in Hungduan, IFSU-Hapao Campus conducted a two-day Campus Journalism Seminar Training-Workshop and Cultural Documentation for Student Scribes of Hungduan on September 4–5, 2026, at the IP Resource Conservation and Community Learning Center.

Funded by the IFSU Department of Extension and Training, the activity brought together student writers from Hungduan National High School and Bangbang National High School, their advisers, and IFSU-Hapao campus writers. It aimed to strengthen the participants’ journalistic skills while promoting campus journalism and cultural and tourism documentation among student writers in Hungduan.

In her welcome remarks, Ms. Ronalyn Duyapat, representing Dr. Teroy D. Pacliw, OIC-Campus Executive Director, recognized the participants’ dedication to responsible journalism and encouraged them to maximize the learning opportunities throughout the training.

Dr. Regina G. Gano, Chairperson of the IP Resource Conservation and Community Learning Center, shared her journey as a campus journalist and her coaching experiences. She highlighted how campus journalism helped her develop skills and build friendships and professional connections.

On the first day, Ms. Lalaine H. Dunuan, School Head of Bangbang Elementary School, discussed news and feature writing. Ms. Myleen Y. Inohiaban, Administrative Officer of LGU-Hungduan and a Mass Communication graduate, facilitated sessions on editorial and opinion writing and cartooning.

The following day, Dr. Gano discussed copyreading, headline writing, campus journalism roles, ethics and responsibilities, and cultural documentation writing. Ms. Chrizel Joy U. Dumannop, University Research Associate, discussed Science and Technology and Development Communication Writing, photojournalism and caption writing, digital journalism, and media ethics.

Participants engaged in workshops, writing activities, and hands-on mentoring. Outstanding write-ups were also recognized through awards courtesy of Ms. Inohiaban, while certificates of participation were awarded to the participants.

The training served as preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference of Ifugao and the formation of the new editorial board of the Carver’s Pen newsletter of IFSU-Hapao Campus. // CJD

𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 | 𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Ifugao State University announces a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement with a skeletal workforce on September 1, 2026 (Tuesday) pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 94, Series of 2026 issued by the Office of the University President.

The arrangement is implemented in view of National Heroes Day on August 31, 2026 and the Ifugao Special Non-Working Holiday (Victory Day) on September 2, 2026, with September 1 falling between these two non-working days.

All personnel under the WFH arrangement are expected to be available during official working hours to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks and deliverables. An Individual Accomplishment Report (IAR) is to be attached to the Daily Time Record (DTR) for submission.

Offices and units performing essential functions and those whose services require on-site presence to ensure uninterrupted delivery of critical operations are required to report physically to their respective offices, as determined by their heads of offices.

Classes may be conducted through remote learning using online or offline platforms, synchronous or asynchronous modalities, or other appropriate alternative methods. Faculty members are encouraged to inform students of class schedules, provide necessary learning materials in advance, and promptly communicate any urgent requirements or adjustments to assigned tasks.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | IFSU-Hapao Campus personnel and students joined the Barangay Local Government Unit of Hapao and community volunteers in the Barkada Weekly Clean-Up Drive (Week 33) today, helping clear the pathways to the Punnuk site in anticipation of Punnuk 2026 on August 22, 2026.

IFSU-Hapao Campus launched its campus-based ASEAN Month celebration during this morning’s flag ceremony through a brief but meaningful activity, in support of the University’s ASEAN Month initiatives led by the International Affairs and Linkages Office. The celebration featured ASEAN trivia and a question-and-answer segment, an overview of the planned activities, and the presentation of ASEAN-inspired attire worn by students and personnel.

The activity concluded with a community dance featuring the native dance led by the VLPCC officers, with students and personnel joining in the celebration.//

𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧, 𝐈𝐅𝐒𝐔-𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

The Sangguniang Bayan of Hungduan, in collaboration with Ifugao State University–Hapao Campus, conducted an Information Dissemination Drive (IDD) on municipal ordinances, crime prevention, Republic Act No. 10630, and adolescent education on August 13, 2026. The activity aimed to enhance awareness among students and community members on municipal ordinances, public safety, responsible citizenship, and youth welfare.

In his welcome remarks, Campus Executive Director Dr. Teroy D. Pacliw emphasized the importance of understanding municipal ordinances and crime prevention measures in promoting the safety, protection, and holistic development of the youth. Mx. Javid Inabiohan, Local Legislative Staff Officer III, acknowledged the participants and encouraged the youth to participate in the upcoming Linggo ng Kabataan celebration on August 29–31, 2026. Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Romeo L. Haguyayap underscored the importance of obeying laws and ordinances and urged students to actively engage in the discussions.

A message of support from Municipal Mayor Hon. Casan P. Dumulag, delivered by Ms. Evelyne D. Licayo, emphasized that ordinances are intended to guide citizens toward responsible conduct and promote peace, order, and harmony in the community.

Ms. Jocelyn H. Dulnuan, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary, discussed several municipal ordinances, including Ordinance No. 215, Series of 2026, or the Hungduan Videoke Regulation and Public Peace Ordinance, which prohibits videoke and other amplified devices from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Ordinance No. 214 on curfew hours for minors, Ordinance No. 216 on proper dress decorum, and Ordinance No. 212 regulating alcoholic beverages and public drinking were also discussed.

PMSg Martha B. Taguiling talked about Anti-Terrorism, Cybercrime Prevention, and Anti-Illegal Drugs, reminding participants to practice vigilance, protect personal information, avoid suspicious links, and report unlawful activities.

PSSg Amelyn G. Anical also discussed Republic Act No. 10630, highlighting the protection, rehabilitation, and welfare of children in conflict with the law and the importance of preventing child abuse, exploitation, and involvement of children in criminal activities.

SB members Hon. Jeremiah T. Ipan and Hon. Jessie Lacbawan encouraged participants to be advocates and share the knowledge gained with fellow youth and other community members, particularly on public safety and cybercrime prevention.// Jemina Gladwin Atolba
