A Look Back at Five Years Past ✨

I can still remember how I was crying for several days before graduation, as I was feeling the end-of-an-era blues. I wasn't so sure how I would really end up in life after that event. Many months have past, I was feeling so unstable for I was afraid of uncertainty. I was uncertain of the next steps that I would take to make a progress with my career path. Should it be Med, or Research, or Academe, I even ventured Data Science and a little bit of Programming.

And now, exactly five years have past. I stand to attest that God is truly gracious. Just like what I said in a retreat, "Tagapahiluna gyud ang Ginoo".

Back then, my definition of success was going to far away places and build my own name in that foreign region, from scratch. But now, it is literally more fulfilling to serve in my own hometown, contribute to my own community and become reconnected to my roots. It is a great honor that our campus director and former department head/RIES head have given me the opportunity to lead our department. I am truly humbled and grateful for the trust you have placed in me.

Cheers to the five years and here's to the next five years! 🥂

ANNOUNCEMENT | The Office of the VP for Research, Innovation and Extension Services through the Journal Management Office will be conducting an Online Writeshop on Prose and Poetry Papers for Journal Publication come March 20, 2024,.8:30 AM.

The aim of this activity is to create awareness and increase the number of SLSU publication through publishing prose and poetry papers. These documents can be converted into publishable papers which can be counted as publication for SLSU. With this, all RIES Heads/Coordinators, interested faculty members, interested students (undergraduate and graduate) and members of student publication, are hereby requested to please attend such engagement via Zoom.

Yesterday was the last day for this, but I'm still gonna post this anyway.

This picture was taken during our site visit in Maag River, Silago, Southern Leyte last February 7, 2024, with my thesis advisees. This tree is located in Barangay Pontana. I'm still not familiar with the different species of indigenous (hopefully, indigenous tong hinug ko. haha) trees, so I can't ID this, yet. But hey, this is maybe the first step where I can get to know them more.

Hello po, masaya po talagang makita na mababasa at pwedeng magamit ng mga policy-makers ang mga pinaghihirapan natin. Di rin po ito posible kung di dahil sa mentor ko po na si ma'am yap-dejeto at mga kasamahan ko na sina Leonard, Michelle at m2m.

Hello sa inyong lahat! Gumagawa din ba kayo ng thesis niyo this semester? Kailangan niyo bang maglagay ng mapa ng sampling stations sa manuscript niyo? Hindi pa ba kayo marunong gumawa ng mapa gamit ang kahit-anong software (like QGIS), or nakalimutan niyo na kung paano to gawin?🤔
