Hinigaran Institute Inc. recently celebrated a unique milestone for Grade 12 learners, blending technology, nutrition, and environmental stewardship. Grounded in the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) curriculum, this performance task successfully integrated the 2026 Nutrition Month theme: "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaaan!"
The initiative challenged students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios through two primary components: Interactive Debunking Game & Fact-Check Booth the students designed an engaging digital game to train audiences on how to spot, counter, and avoid fake nutrition news online. This was showcased alongside a pop-up booth built entirely from indigenous and recycled materials. The Eco-Conscious Nutri-Fair Salad Bar demonstrating creativity and sustainability, learners prepared healthy salads using locally sourced, eco-friendly ingredientsโsuch as malunggay, squash, spinach, sweet potato leaves (talbos ng kamote), and papaya. This hands-on activity directly supported local farmers, promoted food security, and highlighted the link between personal health and environmental protection.
The success of this Nutrition Month culmination would not have been possible without the guidance, leadership, and collaboration of the school community, We would like to thanks our supportive School Principal Dr. Dinah D. Gortones, for sharing their valuable time, expertise, and constructive feedback with the learners.
