𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Strengthens Literacy and Numeracy Through Technical Assistance

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 17, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City took part in the Provision of Technical Assistance to Schools Division Offices in Addressing Concerns on Literacy and Numeracy Performance, an initiative focused on strengthening efforts to improve learners’ foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

The activity provided a meaningful avenue for education leaders and concerned personnel to examine literacy and numeracy performance, identify implementation concerns, and explore responsive strategies and interventions based on available data and the needs of learners and schools.

Through collaborative discussions and technical guidance, participants were encouraged to strengthen existing programs, address learning gaps, and enhance school-level interventions that support the development of essential literacy and numeracy competencies.

SDO Himamaylan City remains committed to working with education partners and field personnel in advancing evidence-based, responsive, and learner-centered approaches that help ensure every learner develops the foundational skills necessary for lifelong learning and success.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 17, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City gathered in a meaningful Oath Taking Ceremony for Newly Hired Teachers and Newly Promoted Teaching and School Administration Personnel at the SDO Conference Hall. The occasion marked a significant milestone for education professionals who formally embraced new responsibilities and renewed their commitment to serving the learners and communities of Himamaylan City.

The ceremony was made more meaningful through the full support of the Local Government Unit of Himamaylan City, headed by Hon. Mayor Raymund I. Tongson Jr., together with Sir Wendel John “Boyen” Vallejera, Ma’am Mary Jane H. Faduga, Ma’am Esther Marie Tongson, and Sir Ralph Matawhay. The presence and support of the LGU reflected the continuing collaboration between the local government and the education sector in supporting the people who dedicate themselves to public service.

Adding warmth to the celebration were the inspirational messages of OIC Schools Division Superintendent Ma’am Lynee A. Peñaflor and Hon. Mayor Raymund I. Tongson Jr., who welcomed the new appointees and recognized the significance of their new roles. 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Strengthens Learning Systems Reform through “Beyond the First Block” Orientation-Workshop

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 15, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City conducted the One-Day Orientation-Workshop for Education Leaders on “Beyond the First Block: Reviewing the Implementation of Learning Systems Reform Policies in Schools,” bringing together education leaders and key personnel to examine current implementation practices and strengthen the delivery of learning system reforms across schools.

The activity provided a venue for participants to review existing practices, identify operational bottlenecks, compliance gaps, and resource needs, and discuss strategies for aligning school-level implementation with national Learning Systems Reform Policies. Through collaborative discussions and evidence-based assessment, education leaders were encouraged to identify areas requiring further support and improvement.

A key focus of the workshop was the development of a data-driven strategic action plan anchored on targeted technical assistance, real-time monitoring, and SMART indicators. These strategies aim to help schools systematically identify, track, and address implementation gaps while ensuring that reforms are sustained and responsive to emerging needs.

Participated in by the Schools Division Superintendent, CID personnel, Elementary and Secondary School Heads, and identified Unit and Section Heads from SGOD and OSDS, the activity reinforced the importance of strong leadership, collaboration, monitoring, and strategic planning in advancing meaningful education reforms.

Through “Beyond the First Block,” SDO Himamaylan City continues to strengthen its commitment to translating policies into effective practices and ensuring that learning system reforms contribute to improved outcomes for teachers, schools, and learners.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Orients Secondary School Heads on Curriculum Exit Tracking System

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 4, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City successfully conducted the Division Orientation of Secondary School Heads on the Implementation of the School-Based Symposium for the Curriculum Exit Tracking System (CETS) at the SDO Building, 2/F, So. Ubay, Brgy. Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

The orientation brought together Secondary School Heads, Guidance Designates, and Administrative Officer II (AO II) to strengthen their understanding of the purpose, objectives, and significance of the School-Based Symposium as an integral component of the CETS. The activity provided participants with essential guidance on the processes and preparations needed for its effective implementation in their respective schools.

Discussions focused on the roles and responsibilities of concerned personnel, proper coordination and documentation, identification of target learners, and gathering of relevant information necessary for effective curriculum exit tracking. An open forum also allowed participants to raise concerns, clarify procedures, and address implementation challenges.

The activity successfully established a common understanding and greater readiness among participating secondary schools to implement the School-Based Symposium. Through strengthened coordination and data-informed tracking, SDO Himamaylan City continues to support learners in navigating their curriculum exit pathways and preparing for their next steps beyond basic education.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | From Every Stride to a Brighter Classroom: YOUTHNITY RUN 2026 Turns Support into Hope

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 3, 2026 – SDO Himamaylan would like to thank the LGU of Himamaylan, headed by Hon. Mayor Raymund I. Tongson Jr., and Ma’am Evergrace T. Castro of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Himamaylan, together with SPM Hon. Emman Castro, for their invaluable support in turning the spirit of community cooperation into meaningful action for our learners.

A total of ₱85,700, generated from the YOUTHNITY RUN 2026, was formally turned over to SDS Ma’am Lynee A. Peñaflor, PhD, ASDS Sir Eiggy D. Yap, Accounting representatives, and the DepEd SDO Himamaylan team. The funds will support the construction of a classroom at Madaja Elementary School, helping provide learners with a better and more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The turn-over was made possible through the presence of SPM Hon. Emman Castro, representing Mayor Raymund I. Tongson Jr., alongside the continued support of our partners, donors, participants, and members of the community who shared their time, resources, and effort for this meaningful cause.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 2, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City, in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), successfully conducted the “Usapan Serye Para sa Responsableng Pagpamilya: Family Planning Education and Advocacy Program for the Workplace” at the SDO Himamaylan Conference Hall.

The activity provided SDO-based personnel with an informative and interactive venue to learn more about family planning, responsible parenthood, and informed decision-making, highlighting the importance of open communication and awareness in promoting healthy and well-prepared families.

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, September 1, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City formally welcomed its newest teaching personnel through an Oath Taking Ceremony held at the Schools Division Office, marking the beginning of their journey in public service and their commitment to providing quality education to learners.

The ceremony was led by OIC Schools Division Superintendent Ma’am Lynee A. Peñaflor, together with OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Sir Eiggy D. Yap and Administrative Officer IV Ms. Angielee Gumata, who graced the occasion and extended their messages of encouragement and support to the newly hired teachers.

Taking their oath of office were Ma. Lutchie M. Apostolero, Teacher I of Cunalum Integrated School, and Jenelyn L. Casilo, Teacher I of Madaja Elementary School. 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | SDO Himamaylan Strengthens SBFP Financial Management Through Hot Meals Cash Advance and Liquidation Orientation

HIMAMAYLAN CITY, August 25, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Himamaylan City conducted a meeting on the SBFP Hot Meals Cash Advance and Liquidation Process at the SDO Conference Hall, bringing together concerned personnel to strengthen their understanding of the proper financial procedures supporting the implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP).

The activity focused on orienting participants on the proper process and requirements for SBFP Hot Meals Cash Advance, including the necessary documentation and procedures to ensure that funds are properly requested, received, and utilized. Discussions also covered the proper liquidation of SBFP Hot Meals expenses, emphasizing complete supporting documents, accurate reporting, and compliance with existing financial guidelines.

A key part of the meeting was the clarification of issues, concerns, and responsibilities of concerned personnel, providing an avenue to address challenges and establish a clearer and more coordinated process in managing SBFP funds. The discussions highlighted the importance of timely action, proper documentation, accountability, and adherence to prescribed procedures.
