Together with the Barkada Kontra Droga Organization and with the goal of raising awareness about Drug Use and Addiction and how it can affect not only individuals, but also their families, friendships, and future, a infographics is created for the said goals.

Drugs may make satisfaction temporarily, but the long-term effects can damage mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. Understanding what drugs are, the different types and their effects, and the warning signs of addiction helps us become more aware and responsible members of our community.

Through awareness, education, and support, we can help prevent substance abuse and encourage one another to make healthier choices. Remember, true friends guide each other toward better paths—not toward harmful habits. 🤝

With promoting awareness, prevention, and youth empowerment against illegal drugs, Let us stand strong, stay informed, and protect our future. 🛡️

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗻-𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀
•Made from morphine, which comes from o***m poppy seed pods grown in Southeast/Southwest Asia, Mexico, and Colombia.

•It can appear as a white or brown powder, or as a sticky black substance called black tar he**in.

•He**in slows down brain and nervous system activity. It is extremely addictive—regular use makes the body depend on the drug to function ‘normally’.

•As the individual takes he**in, people often experience an intense rush of pleasure, calmness, and happiness. This is followed by several hours of slowed perception, movement, and thought, with some users describing the sensation as a dream.

•He**in blocks pain signals and reduces heart rate and breathing. In cases of overdose, breathing can stop completely, leading to death.

•Research shows that about 75% of he**in users also struggle with mental health issues such as depression, ADHD, or bipolar disorder.

•Using he**in regularly for just two to three weeks may lead to substance use disorder, which causes health problems and difficulties in daily life.

•Regardless of how it is taken, he**in reaches the brain rapidly. By triggering dopamine release, it creates powerful feelings of reward, making addiction likely even after only one or two uses.

💬𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡:

It’s sold as a "safe fix" for pain or low mood – But is it really a solution, or just trading one problem for something worse?

‎Alcohol is a legal and widely accepted substance, often linked to celebrations and social gatherings. But once consumed, it quickly enters the bloodstream and affects the brain, slowing reaction time, impairing judgment, and reducing coordination.

‎The liver can only process about one standard drink per hour. Drinking more than that causes alcohol to circulate longer in the body, increasing strain on vital organs. Over time, heavy or frequent drinking can lead to liver disease (including cirrhosis), heart problems, memory issues, weakened immunity, and a higher risk of certain cancers.
‎
‎Even moderate drinking carries health risks, and long-term use can lead to dependence.

Magic mushrooms, or the psilocybin mushrooms, are naturally occuring hallucinogens. They change how we sense, feel, and think sometimes bringing joy but sometimes causing fear.

Their effects can shape on "set and setting" a person's midndset andd environment. A calm mood and safe surroundings can lead to pleasant trips, while stress or noisy places may cause bad experiences.

Though studied for possible medicinal use, such as helping with depression, anxiety, and even substance use problems. However, despite this they remain controversial and are illegal in many countries.

Ci******es contain ni****ne, which is highly addictive, and to***co smoke with thousands of toxic chemicals harmful to the lungs, heart, and body. Ni****ne addiction can develop early in life if teens start smoking young, and smoking is a leading cause of preventable disease and death worldwide.

Vapes / E-Ci******es

Many vapes contain ni****ne, just like ci******es, and the aerosol produced can include harmful substances such as cancer-causing chemicals, heavy metals, and tiny particles that can irritate or damage the lungs.

🔴Ni****ne is addictive and can harm brain development in youth, affecting attention, memory, learning, mood, and impulse control.

🔴Va**ng is not risk-free: even without to***co combustion, the v***r still delivers harmful chemicals and can damage lung tissue.

Caffeine might be our best partner in those sleepless nights, but could this common stimulant be paving the way for more dangerous addiction?

Caffeine is a widely used stimulant that is commonly found in soda, energy drinks, and coffee. It can elevate your mood, activate your metabolism, and boost your concentration level, but it can also affect brain functions and lead to dependence.

Whereas caffeine addiction is different from drug addiction, both share similar patterns, such as tolerance. To feel the same effects, some individuals may turn to more potent stimulants, which can lead to the use of more harmful substances. This is why caffeine is sometimes considered a “gateway drug.”
It may sharpen focus, but reliance on it weakens self-control. Be mindful and know the risks.
