💡 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐀 💡

Ever stop to wonder why we divide time into increments of 60, or why a circle has 360 degrees? The answer lies in ancient Mesopotamia! The brilliant Babylonians, who thrived thousands of years ago, developed a sophisticated number system based on 60, not 10 like our modern decimal system.

Why 60? Well, 60 is a highly composite number, meaning it has many divisors (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30, and 60). This made it incredibly convenient for dividing and working with fractions, essential for their advanced astronomy, engineering, and trade.

Imagine doing all your calculations with base 60! It might seem strange at first, but their system was so effective that its influence persists to this day. From the minutes and seconds on our clocks to the degrees we use to navigate the globe , we're still living with the legacy of Babylonian math.

💡 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐀 💡

What comes into your mind when you hear the word "𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔"? I know some of us are afraid of numbers and some are not totally interested in this coursework. However, let us be reminded that Math is everywhere. Do not forget that Mathematics is also FUN especially when you absorb the fun facts about it.

It is really exciting, right? So let's all spread these amazing facts, boost your memory, and gain informations.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦: FFHNAS Mathematics Society conducts 2025 Club Elections

GUYONG- Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School's Mathematics Society conducted a successful 2025 Club Elections for aspiring student leaders and mathematicians at the room of Grade 10-Agoho, July 4.

Under the supervision of former Math Soc adviser, 𝕸𝖗𝖘. 𝕴𝖒𝖊𝖑𝖉𝖆 𝖁. 𝕲𝖗𝖆𝖛𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖗, the election had nice voting flow and new set of officers are elected.

Math Soc also waved welcome to their new club adviser, 𝕸𝖗. 𝕸𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝕱𝖗𝖔𝖎𝖑𝖆𝖓 𝕲. 𝕷𝖑𝖆𝖓𝖊𝖘, who will be handling the club for the first time.

The said event lasted for one hour and 30 minutes and was adjourned at 11:30 a.m. sharp.

The Mathematics Society officers, In the recent SSLG elections, our two participating Math Society officers emerged 𝙪𝙣𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙣.

Congratulations to our Math Society Vice President, 𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗟 𝗣. 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗦, who won as 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 11 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 for the upcoming year.

And from Silakbo, 𝗝𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗢𝗡𝗔 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗦 who won as Math Society 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 9 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦.

Their dedication goes beyond math to serving others. Truly, the math officers are reliable and will never back down from any challenge.

Now, let us acknowledge their 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 as our 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳 and as 𝘚𝘚𝘓𝘎 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳.

This feeling known as love shares mathematics a special place. Each can infinite, puzzling, and full of solutions waiting to be 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻..

What kind of 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 did you receive today? Is it 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴? 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴? Or is it the passion of a math teacher for 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?

And also, keep in mind that Valentine's Day is about 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 as much as dates, so remember that you're not always alone, you just have to look around, as they say, "𝙇 𝙤 𝙫 𝙚 𝙞 𝙨 𝙞 𝙣 𝙩 𝙝 𝙚 𝙖 𝙞 𝙧." Make sure to also spend time with the people who have your back! 💗
