ANNOUNCEMENT | SUSPENSION OF CLASSES

Following Memorandum Circular No. 126 issued by the Office of the President, classes in all levels in public and private schools are suspended today, August 14, 2026 (Friday), due to the continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

📍 Quezon is among the areas covered by the suspension.

We encourage all learners and parents to stay safe, stay indoors when possible, and continue to monitor official announcements and updates.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 14

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 126, government offices are directed to shift to appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 14, 2026:

📍 Zambales
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Cavite
📍 Batangas
📍 Rizal
📍 Laguna
📍 Quezon
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall likewise be implemented in these areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

SBFP 2026 | Delivery of Feeding Supplies

GENERAL PTA MEETING | Strengthening School-Parent Partnership

The General Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting was conducted on July 10, 2026, led by Dr. Menching L. Samson, OIC-Principal I, with the participation of PTA officers, teachers, and parents.

The meeting focused on important school matters, including the schedule of upcoming activities, preparations for the PTA Induction Program, updates on school programs, and reports on recently conducted activities. The importance of active parent participation and strong collaboration between the school and the PTA in implementing school programs and activities was also emphasized.

During the meeting, the school also introduced its new teachers, Mrs. Genalyn L. Andal and Ms. Rachelle Ann Ferreras, as members of the teaching workforce.

Gayagayaan Elementary School successfully conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session featuring DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2026: Policy and Guidelines on the Establishment and Implementation of a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment, facilitated by Marilyn L. Ibarreta, Teacher I.

The session provided teachers with a deeper understanding of the policy, highlighting the importance of creating a learning environment that is safe, inclusive, supportive, and conducive to the holistic development of every learner.

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS | Student Organizations' Coordination Meeting

Gayagayaan Elementary School successfully conducted a coordination meeting with the officers of the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG), YECS, and Red Cross Youth Council (RCYC) on July 16, 2026, at the GES Office of the Principal.

The meeting focused on the officers' roles and responsibilities, school cleanliness and beautification, the reactivation of the Gulayan sa Paaralan, the replacement of the Reading Hub name, and the implementation of proper waste segregation in every classroom.

Presided over by Menching L. Samson, PhD, OIC-Principal I, the meeting reinforced the importance of leadership, teamwork, and shared responsibility in supporting school programs and promoting a clean, safe, and learner-friendly environment.

Through the active participation of the different student organizations, the school continues to nurture responsible, service-oriented, and committed young leaders.
