The first participation of the organization was during the International Women's Day in which Dungganon, a non government organization operating in Guiuan sponsored the event and sought the assistance of the YES-O in spearheading the clean-up activity and set out to clean the seawall situated at the Guiuan Terminal .

YES-O members having a field trip and tree growing activity at the Guiuan Eco-waste Center and Park in Brgy. Sto. Niño, Guiuan, Eastern Samar. They were introduced to the methods of waste segregation, recycling, and composting done at the center and were taught how to plant trees properly, particularly on keeping the proper distances between seedstocks.

YES-O researchers conducting a study on the bioaccumulation of nickel (Ni) in the clay soils of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, a part of the organization's efforts for searching for ways in boosting its environmental programs. YES-O forged a partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry to sustain the project on Solid Waste Management, Segregation and Recycling Program by coming up with a project proposal on "Skills Training on Handicraft Making, Utilizing Plastic, Paper and Other Recyclable Materials." Since effects of environmental programs have long-term effects, there is a need to couple it with an income-generating project to sustain the commitment of the YES-O members in their cause of the protecting the environment.
