INDUCTION CEREMONY & STAKEHOLDERS’ PARTY 2026

Cogon Elementary School warmly and gratefully celebrated its Induction Ceremony and Stakeholders’ Party, a meaningful gathering that brought together our school community, parents, teachers, stakeholders, and community partners in the spirit of unity, commitment, and shared responsibility for the success of our learners.

The occasion was made even more memorable by the presence of our esteemed guests, led by Hon. Mark Pol Gonzales, Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Eastern Samar, whose presence and support served as an inspiration to the entire Cogon Elementary School community.

We were likewise honored by the presence of the Barangay Officials of Cogon, headed by Hon. Noel Pelicano, whose continued partnership and support have been instrumental in strengthening the school’s programs, projects, and activities.

The ceremony formally recognized and welcomed our school organizations and stakeholders as they took their respective oaths of office and commitment to serve, support, and work hand-in-hand for the welfare and development of our learners.

More than an occasion, the celebration was a testament to the power of Bayanihan and partnership in education. Cogon Elementary School successfully conducted it's 4th School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) yesterday focusing on the Guidelines on the Crafting and Utilization of Big Books and Small Books.

The session provided teachers with meaningful opportunities to deepen their understanding of the appropriate design, crafting, and utilization of Big Books and Small Books as supplementary instructional materials. Through collaborative discussions, sharing of ideas, and hands-on activities, our teachers explored creative and practical ways to develop reading materials that are age-appropriate, engaging, learner-centered, and responsive to the needs of our pupils.

The activity highlighted the importance of utilizing quality instructional materials to strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary development, fluency, and overall literacy skills among learners.

A heartfelt appreciation to our Brilliant Resource Speaker, Sir Ivan Odon for his knowledge and valuable expertise shared to us, to our School Head Maam Maria Lyn T. Dagale for her iniative, to the host the Grade 2 teachers for the effort and preparation and of course to all the participants for their active involvement, valuable insights, and commitment to continuously improving teaching and learning practices.

The activity was organized to enhance teachers' competence in developing valid, reliable, and curriculum-aligned assessment tools that accurately measure learners' achievement of the Learning Competencies. During the session, teachers collaboratively reviewed the Table of Specifications (TOS), discussed appropriate test construction principles, and crafted quality test items that reflected varying levels of cognitive demand. Emphasis was given to ensuring fairness, clarity, alignment with learning objectives, and adherence to assessment standards. The collaborative workshop encouraged the sharing of best practices and strengthened teachers' skills in preparing standardized summative assessments that promote meaningful evaluation of learners' progress. The session concluded with the presentation and validation of the drafted test questions, followed by an agreement to continuously improve assessment practices in support of quality teaching and learning.
