✅ NEW CLASSROOMS FOR GRADE 6: A DREAM COME TRUE FOR MAURARO LEARNERS

After almost 7 months of waiting, Grade 6 learners of Mauraro Elementary School finally stepped into brand new classrooms on the first day of classes for SY 2026-2027.

The 2-classroom building was formally turned over on March 31, 2026 by project implementers, DPWH officials and SDO Albay representatives, and school stakeholders. Since then, excitement has been building among pupils, parents, and teachers who witnessed the construction from ground-breaking to completion.

Comfortable, Conducive, Classroom-Ready
For years, Grade 6 classes had to make do with limited space. Now, the new building gives them wider, well-ventilated, and well-lit rooms — a learning environment that truly supports focus and creativity.

“Ang ganda na po ng room namin, Ma’am Keith! Hindi na mainit at kasya na kaming lahat,” a Grade 6 pupil shared with a big smile while arranging her new notebook.

Teachers also welcomed the upgrade. With proper blackboards, electrical outlets, and space for learning corners, lessons can now be delivered more effectively. The new setup promotes active learning and classroom management.

A Good Start for the School Year
The timing of the turnover couldn’t be better. Opening SY 2026-2027 in a new, comfortable classroom gave learners the motivation to aim higher. It signaled that their education matters that the community, LGU, and DepEd are investing in their future.

School Principal Giovanni Palacio, together with the teaching force, extended gratitude to everyone who made the project possible. From funding to construction, every effort contributed to giving Grade 6 learners a dignified space to finish their elementary journey strong.

Building Dreams, One Classroom at a Timew
For Mauraro ES, this 2-classroom building is more than concrete and steel. It’s proof that patience and bayanihan pay off. After 8 months of waiting, the wait was worth it.

As classes begin, one thing is clear: with conducive classrooms like these, our Grade 6 learners are set for a good start and a bright finish to Grade 6.

✅ MAURARO ES LEARNERS RECEIVE SCHOOL SUPPLIES; LGU SUPPORT KICKS OFF SY 2026-2027 RIGHT

The 2nd day of classes at Mauraro Elementary School started with smiles as all 727 learners from Kinder to Grade 6 received complete school supplies from the Local Government Unit of Guinobatan.

The distribution, held on the 2nd day of the opening of classes, was led by the LGU team under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Ann Y. Ongjoco. Each learner received essential materials needed for daily lessons — notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other learning tools.

Motivation for a Strong Start
For the pupils, the timely delivery of supplies became instant motivation. “Natuwa po ako kasi bago lahat ng gamit ko,” shared a Grade 4 pupil. Teachers observed higher energy and enthusiasm in class as learners felt valued and ready to harness their potentials for the new school year.

School officials noted that starting the year well-equipped sets the tone for better focus, participation, and academic achievement. The support came at the perfect time — right when learners are adjusting back to school routines.

Parents Express Gratitude
Parents who witnessed the distribution expressed heartfelt thanks to the LGU. Many shared that the free school supplies eased their back-to-school expenses and allowed them to focus on other family needs.

“Mabuhay po kayo, Mayor Ann at sa buong LGU! Malaking tulong po ito sa amin,” said one parent during the program.

Mauraro ES Says “Thank You”
Mauraro ES, through the School Principal and teaching force, extended its profound gratitude to Mayor Ann Y. Ongjoco and the entire LGU for their unwavering support to public education. The gesture proves that the local government remains a strong partner in uplifting the educational growth of every Mauraro learner.

With complete supplies, motivated learners, and active LGU support, the school opening is truly starting right. Mauraro ES is now more driven than ever to deliver quality education, with the bayanihan spirit leading the way.

Mabuhay po kayo, LGU Guinobatan!

LOOK// MAURARO ES HOLDS SY 2026-2027 PARENTS’ ORIENTATION; KEY DEPED REFORMS, HEALTH & SPTA PLANS TACKLED

GUINOBATAN, ALBAY — Mauraro Elementary School kicked off School Year 2026-2027 with a fruitful Parents’ Orientation and SPTA Assembly, gathering stakeholders to align on new DepEd policies, school plans, and community health programs for the year.

Held at the school grounds, the activity served as the first major convergence of parents, teachers, and partners before classes fully transition to the new academic setup.

DepEd’s 3 Key Reforms Explained
School Principal Giovanni Palacio led the discussion on DepEd’s 2026 Key Reforms. He highlighted three major concerns that directly affect learners and parents:

1. Three-Term School Calendar – The academic year will now be divided into three longer terms to allow better mastery of lessons, time for remediation, and enrichment activities between terms.
2. Classroom Assessment– A new grading policy will be implemented where a raw score of 70–72.99 now equals a passing grade of 75. The focus shifts to learner progress and meaningful feedback rather than just numerical grades.
3. Education in Emergencies– Under the “Hayo, Hinay, Hinga, Hinto” protocol, the school now has clear guidelines to continue learning safely during typhoons, extreme heat, earthquakes, and other disruptions.

Principal Palacio also reiterated the Child Protection Policy, future school development plans, and other DepEd directives to ensure a safe and learner-centered environment.

SPTA Plans and Call for Cooperation
Mrs. Gina Nasol, newly elected SPTA President for SY 2026-2027, presented the SPTA’s plans and projects for the year. She emphasized that SPTA collections serve as the “fuel” for accomplishing school programs in partnership with teachers and administration.

She appealed for parents’ full cooperation and timely contributions, stressing that stronger SPTA support means more classrooms, materials, and activities for the learners.

Health Programs for Learners
Genalyn Pama-Olaguera, RHU Midwife, discussed upcoming health initiatives from the Rural Health Unit. She detailed the schedule and process for the school-based vaccination and deworming programs, assuring parents of safety protocols and proper coordination with teachers. She encouraged parents to give consent so all pupils can benefit from the free health services.

Brigada Eskwela 2026 Recognized
The school management also gave due recognition to 20 TUPAD members in partnership with DOLE. Their hard work during Brigada Eskwela 2026 resulted in a clean, safe, and transformed school environment. The clean-up drive ensured Mauraro ES was ready and welcoming for learners on opening day.

A Fruitful Start
The SPTA assembly concluded on a positive note, with clear information delivered to all stakeholders. As Principal Palacio stated, effective communication is the key to effective program delivery. With parents, teachers, LGU, and partners working hand in hand, Mauraro ES is set for a productive and meaningful SY 2026-2027.

_“Bayanihan para sa Batang Mauraro”_ remains the school’s guiding spirit as the new school year begins.
