AMSLI gathers R6 mentors for RMยฒ Summer Camp โ26 in Bacolod City
The Asian MathSci League, Inc. (AMSLI) successfully commenced the first batch of its Re-educating Mentorsโ Minds (RMยฒ) Summer Camp 2026 on May 15-17, 2026 at the Acacia Hotel Bacolod, gathering dedicated educators from across Region VI for an intensive three-day in-house training seminar.
Carrying the theme, โSustaining the Spark: Mentoring for Excellence, Curiosity, & Collaboration,โ the summer camp serves as AMSLIโs Phase 2 Training for mentors under the organizationโs flagship AMSLI Mathematics Enhancement Program for School Year 2025-2026. The activity brings together mathematics mentors from Grades 1 to 12 to strengthen instructional practices, foster collaboration among educators, and deepen the organizationโs commitment to quality mathematics education.
The RMยฒ Summer Camp highlights AMSLIโs continuing advocacy of equipping teachers with innovative strategies and advanced mentoring approaches that cultivate excellence and curiosity among learners. Through lectures, collaborative workshops, discussions, and mentoring sessions, participants are immersed in meaningful professional development experiences designed to further enhance their competence as mathematics educators and trainers.
As AMSLIโs official in-house training for mentors, the seminar also creates opportunities for educators from different divisions and schools to exchange best practices, build professional networks, and reinforce a shared mission of nurturing globally competitive Filipino learners in mathematics and related disciplines.
One of the notable features of the RMยฒ Summer Camp is AMSLIโs commitment to making professional development accessible to teachers. The three-day training is offered free of charge to qualified educators who served as mentors of AMSLIโs Mathematics Enhancement Program (AMEP), reflecting the organizationโs continued dedication to supporting and empowering teachers nationwide.
โOur mentors are the heart of AMSLIโs mission. Through programs like RMยฒ, we continue to empower educators not only with knowledge and skills, but also with the passion to inspire curiosity, excellence, and collaboration among learners. When teachers continue to grow, countless students benefit from that spark,โ shared Mrs. Rechilda Villame, AMSLI President.
