Guihulngan National High School – Poblacion, under the Schools Division Office of Guihulngan City, proudly celebrates another remarkable achievement as its talented learners secured 2nd Place in the 2026 Provincial Nutrition Month Video Campaign Contest organized by the Provincial Nutrition Committee of Negros Oriental.

Anchored on this year's Nutrition Month theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!", the competition challenged participants to creatively advocate for proper nutrition and environmental responsibility through video production.

𝘾𝘼𝙈𝙋𝙐𝙎 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 | GNSH-P Students Clinch Silver in Provincial Nutrition Advocacy Video Contest

Five senior high school learners from Guihulngan National High School–Poblacion (GNSH-P) brought pride to the school after securing Second Place in the Province of Negros Oriental's Nutrition Advocacy Video Contest held from July 20 to 31, 2026, as part of the Nutrition Month celebration.

Guided by project coordinator Emman Barutag, the team produced an advocacy film titled Better Choices, inspired by this year's theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan." The competition aimed to promote nutrition awareness and encourage healthier lifestyles through creative storytelling.

The team was composed of Jameila E. Sandigas (Director), Ze D. Maribao (Lead Actor), Joana Mae C. Tobalado (Supporting Actress), Siannie Gwyneth B. Absin (Video Editor), and Jai Ho Patoc (Videographer).

Despite facing limited time and production equipment, the learners remained committed to delivering a meaningful and relatable advocacy film that highlights the importance of making healthier choices among today's youth.

Reflecting on the concept behind the film, director Jameila E. Sandigas shared that the team wanted to portray the reality many students experience today—spending more time indoors, relying on gadgets, and developing unhealthy habits. Through Better Choices, they hoped to inspire fellow learners to adopt a more balanced and health-conscious lifestyle.

The achievement stands as a testament to the team's creativity, perseverance, and dedication to promoting public health awareness while bringing honor to Guihulngan National High School–Poblacion.

DISINFECTION DRIVE
Preventing the Spread of Conjunctivitis (Sore Eyes)

In compliance with Executive Order No. 50, Series of 2026 issued by the Governor of Negros Oriental, Guihulngan National High School – Poblacion immediately conducted the disinfection and sanitation of classrooms and other school facilities as part of its preventive measures against the increasing cases of conjunctivitis (sore eyes).

This initiative aims to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for all learners, teaching, and non-teaching personnel.

We encourage everyone to continue practicing proper hand hygiene, avoid sharing personal items, and seek medical consultation if symptoms of sore eyes appear.

Let us protect our school community through cleanliness, vigilance, and cooperation.

ADVISORY | CLASS SUSPENSION

In accordance with Executive Order No. 50, Series of 2026 issued by the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, classes at all levels (public and private) are SUSPENDED on Friday, August 7, 2026, due to the reported increase in cases of Conjunctivitis (Sore Eyes) in the province.

All learners, parents, and guardians of Guihulngan National High School – Poblacion are hereby advised to stay at home and observe proper health and sanitation practices to help prevent the spread of infection.

Health Reminders:

✅ Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
✅ Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes.
✅ Do not share towels, handkerchiefs, pillows, eye drops, or other personal items.
✅ Maintain good personal hygiene and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
✅ If you experience symptoms such as red, itchy, watery, or swollen eyes, seek medical consultation and avoid close contact with others.
