🌱 Growing a Tabios Garden at Jupi NHS! 🌱

Another space at Jupi National High School is being transformed into a productive Tabios Garden, as part of our continuing commitment to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable learning environment. 💚

Our Tabios plants, scientifically known as Cajanus cajan and commonly called pigeon pea, are more than just garden plants. The young pods and seeds can be used as food and are a good source of protein. The plant is also a nitrogen-fixing legume, helping improve soil fertility and making it useful in sustainable gardening. 🌿

🌱 Did you know? Tabios has been cultivated in tropical regions for centuries and is known in the Philippines by several local names, including tabios, kardis, and kidis.

Through this garden, we hope to promote the productive use of school spaces, food awareness, environmental responsibility, and appreciation of locally useful plants among our learners.

👏 Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our industrious non-teaching staff for their dedication and hard work in developing and caring for our school gardens.

Special thanks also go to Sir Jhonel Albao for generously providing the Tabios seeds, and to Sir Rian Escopete for planting and nurturing the seeds that started this garden. 🌱💚

Every seed planted is a step toward a greener and more sustainable school.

Growing plants, nurturing learning, and cultivating a greener future—one garden at a time! 🌿💚

🌿 FEATURING OUR TALENTED WATCHMAN 👮‍♂️🌱

At Jupi National High School, we are grateful to have a watchman who goes beyond his primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our learners and school community.

Meet Mr. Jejomar E. Doniña, our dedicated watchman who makes good use of his time during his off-peak or less busy hours by helping beautify our school gardens and surroundings. 🌱🌺

From planting and gardening to painting and other school improvement tasks, Sir Jejomar readily lends a helping hand. Whatever task is entrusted to him, he carries it out with dedication, initiative, and pride in his work.

His efforts remind us that creating a beautiful and welcoming school environment is a shared responsibility. 💚

👏 Thank you, Sir Jejomar, for your hard work, versatility, and willingness to go the extra mile for Jupi NHS!

Your contribution may happen quietly behind the scenes, but its impact can be seen throughout our school.

More than a watchman—an invaluable partner in making Jupi NHS a better place! 🌿💚

🌿 Growing a Lemongrass Garden at Jupi NHS! 🍋

Jupi National High School continues to transform available spaces into productive, green, and purposeful gardens as part of our commitment to a healthier and more sustainable school environment. 💚

This area is now being developed into a Lemongrass Garden, featuring Cymbopogon citratus, locally known as tanglad.

🍋 Did you know? Lemongrass is a fragrant, clump-forming perennial grass. Its leaves and stalks have a distinctive lemony aroma and are widely used to add flavor to soups, stews, meat and fish dishes, and herbal teas.

Aside from its culinary value, lemongrass is also an attractive garden plant that can be used for school landscaping, garden borders, and soil protection. It grows well in tropical conditions and can be propagated by dividing established clumps.

👏 We are grateful to our industrious non-teaching staff for their hard work and initiative in turning this once-underutilized space into a productive garden.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Joel’s Vulcanizing Shop in Cogon, Gubat, Sorsogon, for generously donating old tires that we creatively repurposed as planters. ♻️🛞🌱

From unused spaces to productive gardens—Jupi NHS continues to grow greener, one initiative at a time! 💚

Students of Jupi National High School demonstrate inspiring initiative as they voluntarily wash their own utensils and dishes after recess. In line with DepEd’s Oplan Kalusogan (OK sa DepEd) program, this practice promotes not only proper hygiene and health awareness but also instills self-reliance and civic duty.

May our students continue to cultivate and maintain this positive attitude both inside and outside the classroom! 💙

🌟 A Simple Act of Honesty Worth Recognizing 🌟

We proudly commend Aereon Estremera, a Grade 11 learner, for finding and voluntarily turning over a teacher’s wallet and keys.

This simple act of honesty reflects integrity, responsibility, and respect for others’ belongings—values that we hope to nurture in every learner.

Thank you, Aereon, for choosing to do what is right and for setting a good example to your fellow learners. 👏💙

Honesty may be a simple choice, but it makes a meaningful difference. 🌟
