BU Gubat - SAGE

‎The 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘) of BU Gubat Campus successfully held its 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 on September 18, 2026 via Google Meet.
‎
‎The assembly commenced with the preliminaries, including the Opening Prayer, National Anthem, and BU Hymn, followed by the Opening Remarks delivered by SAGE Adviser Prof. Jeson D. Balingbing. One important highlight also of the event was the presentation of the newly appointed SAGE officers by the SAGE Chairperson Alicia D. Espeño.

‎The organization’s Constitution and By-Laws were read by SAGE Secretary Airen L. Cervantes, providing members with a clearer understanding of the organization’s structure, rules, and responsibilities.
‎
‎The assembly continued with the Reading of the Accomplishment Report for A.Y. 2025–2026, 2nd semester. As former SAGE Secretary Sarah Jane E. Gruta was unable to attend the assembly, SAGE Business Manager Sarah Joy H. Zamora read the report on her behalf.
‎
‎This was followed by the Reading of the Financial Report for A.Y. 2025–2026, 2nd Semester, presented by Former SAGE Treasurer and On-going Treasurer Precious Feolino.
‎
‎The Presentation of Upcoming Events was led by SAGE Chairperson Alicia D. Espéño, providing members with an overview of the organization’s forthcoming activities and initiatives.
‎
‎The assembly also featured an Open Forum, facilitated by SAGE Vice Chairperson Ralph Vincent L. Dolot, where members were given the opportunity to raise concerns, share insights, and participate in discussions concerning the organization.
‎
‎The program concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by SAGE Vice Chairperson Ralph Vincent L. Dolot, marking the successful completion of the First General Assembly and reinforcing SAGE’s commitment to active participation, collaboration, and gender equality.

Time flies so fast—from being an enrollee to finally becoming a graduate. This journey may have been tough, but every struggle was worth the grind. The sleepless nights, battles fought, and silent tears endured have all been paid off.

This path became bearable because of the constant support of those who believe in us and love us. College is truly a roller coaster of emotions—happiness, tiredness, exhaustion, frustration, even madness—but through it all, we remained strong and committed to achieving our goal: the degree.

As we begin to chase our dreams, we draw closer to them, and now we can proudly say we are living them. With pride and a big smile, we can finally say: we made it!

So whatever challenges life may throw at us, we will fight, endure, and proclaim these words:

As the boat starts to sail,
As the waves begin to strike,
As our voyage comes near,
Proclaim our victory and hail!

The Bicol University Center for Gender and Development (BU CGAD) MaGADyon Awards, a yearly celebration of excellence, leadership, and empowerment, was successfully held on March 27, 2026, at La Piazza Hotel & Convention Center. The event brought together students, educators, administrators, guests, and invited speakers who shared meaningful insights and inspiration anchored on the theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”

The event served as a powerful platform to honor collective achievements while giving special recognition to the strength and leadership of individuals and organizations.

Notably, SAGE Adviser and BUGC GAD Coordinator Mr. Jeson D. Balingbing earned 2nd place as Outstanding GAD Extensionist, while BU Gubat SAGE proudly secured 3rd place as an Outstanding SAGE Organization. Other BU Gubat Campus personnel were also recognized, receiving 3rd place as Outstanding Extensionists: Demetrio E. Castillo, Gerry F. Guardian, Dr. Rosemarie R. Jadie, Marecris L. Codon, Manna C. Guim, and Jeson D. Balingbing. In addition, Dr. Rosemarie R. Jadie was honored with the Outstanding GAD Research award.

These recognitions reflect the unwavering dedication and hard work of the BU Gubat SAGE Organization and affirm its significant contributions to advancing gender and development efforts within the university and the wider community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bicol University Center for Gender and Development for its steadfast commitment to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and social awareness within the academic community. We also thank everyone who has been part of our GAD activities and initiatives.
