HISTORY
Bagacay High School was opened on June 27, 1977 which initially composed of only two section in first year which was headed by late Mrs. The two pioneer teachers were Miss Clemencia Erpe now Clemencia Flestado and Miss. Salary of teachers then started of three hundred seventy five (375) a month from local council funds. Since it didn’t have its school site, the first two classes were at th
e first floor of late Mr. Nicolas Lelis house, the retired principal of Bagacay Elementary School. The financial operation of the school was shouldered by the barangay community and solicited from the help of the fishermen under the leadership of Mr. Ulpiano Lacandula, accumulated from the council known as “pahapit sa baling” and benefit dance known as “baraylihan” contributed a lot for the development of the school as well as the teacher’s provision. During the school year 1977-1978, social service volunteers from the different sectors and agencies of the government assisted the community in the construction of the high school PTA building built within the elementary campus eventually Mr. Ignacio Elementary School as principal while Miss Alice Quinones now Mrs. Alice Q. Engay, Assistant Regional Director DepEd Region V took his place. As the newly T.I.C, she manage to complete the 4th year levels from first year to fourth year, and the Faculty members were from the elementary. Through the fund raising “Miss Queen of Hearts” in 1980 the coveted school site was acquired during the administration of Mrs. Engay. The fund from baling other fund raising projects went to the preparation of pertinent papers; the acquisition of the lot transfer was made official. The fact that Mrs. Alice Engay was actively involved in the PRODED program, she was promoted to a higher position that paved away for Miss. Deni Lelis to act as O.I.C principal in both elementary and high school from 1983- 1987. That same year of 1987, Mr. David Jerusalem returned to Bagacay High School being the principal. After a year he was replaced by Mrs. Nora Frivaldo as T.I.C 1988-2000 with 11 teachers. She retired on July 1, 2000. Miss Ave E. Mendizabal assumed the position as T.I.C. She was immediately recognized because of her good leadership and dedication to her work. In one year time her numerous accomplishments her own item being occupied as teacher II was promoted to principal I on December 1, 2001- to June 30, 2004. Miss. Norma E. Ereno assumed the office as principal I.
